Trade Paperback Suggestions

I come, once again, to the experts for a suggestion or two for a TPB/Graphic Novel (not sure what the proper name is). I'd really prefer one super-hero-powered story (note that I'm pretty much caught up on Batman) and one not.

As in the past, your suggestions are pretty good so thanks in advanc.

There are a handful of us that really enjoy The Dark Avengers. It only lasted sixteen issues, was fairly self contained if you understand the premise that Norman Osborn is the new head of SHIELD (redubbed HAMMER) following Secret Invasion. I would imagine it's only three trades.

I'm also enjoying Invincible Iron Man by Matt Fraction a great deal and Jonathon Hickman's Fantastic Four.

Over at DC, Green Lantern is the title I'm following with the most interest right now. I'd recommend Sinestro Corps as a good place to start the action with a bang.

I don't remember if I suggested it last time...but the Spectre series by Ostrander and Mandrake is great. I know of at least 2 trades released on that series. Hardcover wise...Batman: Fortunate Son is also great.

Walking Dead. The hubby and I both just finished Book 8, and just like all the other volumes before it, once you start reading, it's hard to stop before the end. There is lots of zombie goodness, and amazing storytelling. The violence is very graphic, and it's not just from the flesheaters that are wandering around.

James Robinson's The Golden Age is a great TPB...And I'd also suggest New Frontier. I think that may be 2 volumes or there's also the Absolute version. For something a little more pricey, I'd suggest the Starman Omnibus series.

Seconded. Big time.

The Braniac arc is brilliant and crosses many gaps in continuity so the reader can pretty much pick it up without having much, if any, background. The artwork is stellar too. Frank is about as good as there is working in the field currently. This TPB is a no-brainer can't miss book.

I just got Thy Kingdome Come parts 1,2 & 3 .... , But have not read them as of yet. I also got the 1st Volume of Batman Brave & the Bold. Looks like there's quite a bit of Outrageous Aquaman in there ...

For some of Gary Frank's Marvel work, you might want to check out the Supreme Power stuff he did with JMS. There should be at least several trades of that.

The Mark Waid/George Perez run on Brave and the Bold was some good old-school super-heroics and fun. I believe it was separated into 2 volumes.
