    Greatest American Hero Boxset

I recently got the Greatest American Hero limited edition boxset of the complete series, and I just had to tell you guys how awesome it is! It comes with the cape, a reproduction of the guide book, a sticker, and it comes in this cool tin. I just had to tell some people who would know what the heck I was talking about, as almost everyone person I've told has no idea and thinks I've gone a little crazy.
I really need to help my friends find their inner dorks.

    I've seen it.
I got the first season. I even have the 'tooned up maquette or statue from Electric Tiki (very cool, let me tell you!) But I have not been able to get my hands on the complete series tin. Maybe for Christmas. Now I know what goodness to expect!!

I think anyone who likes the show should get it, it's pretty freakin' awesome. Now I just need to get the Megos of the characters so that I can reenact scences from the show for the board.

I use to really love that show. As cheesy as it was, it's good to see that there are other fans.

The show is so much fun to watch until the 3rd season when it starts to go downhill, ( Stephen J. Cannell cites Network interference with the scripts in the bonus features-it shows). A lot of people go ga-ga for Smallville but it was this show that pushed the envelope and re-invigorated superheroes on tv. Ralph was embarassed to wear the costume but in a pinch he would always do the right thing.

I really like GAH because when it was on in the early 80's that was the last point in my life where my family was still together and we got along. My Mom was alive, Dad enjoyed a stable job and no worries, my brother, sister and I were in school and we didn't have any problems. A couple of years later and nothing would be the same again.

I bought the individual boxsets too... I just couldn't see buying it over again, for a tin and cape. Instead I used the cash and bought the figure at FX and had Katt sign it.

GAH is a favorite show of mine---and I want these DVDs as I don't own ANY of the
episodes----what sucks is that I don't have the motivation to buy this collection now---
and if its "limited", I may have difficulty getting it in the future...

Somehow I'll nail this series eventually

Must be nice to have one of those capes though...

You could leave the cape lying around---- and when friends come over, they'd be like:
"what's that?" and you'd be like: "it's a Greatest American Hero cape"

That would be cool----because you KNOW people'd be kinda moved by that concept,
really, 'cause not too many people have capes of ANY kind lying around their house

I have the first season, and I really need to get the other two. I found that the show was much smarter and better written and acted than I remembered. Of course I was 7-9 when it aired, so I only picked up on "school teacher has super suit, doesn't know how to use it, hiliarity ensues" before.

It's a shame the network had to monkey around with the show. 3 seasons for a genre show back then was respectable, but it could have easily have gone for a few more had they just left the formula alone.

Question....how does the replica instruction book look?

And also, can people here tell me their top TOP favorite episodes?
I may not have the box set, but at least I can take advice on what are the
best episodes to track down on the Net.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I made my wife roll her eyes once in the car early in our marriage and I had just picked up the new C/A Green Hornet figure..:

"Hey, wouldn't it be cool to just drive around town for a while with both of us wearing masks..?"

                          ...was pretty much the response.

Cool. I think GAH despite its flaws is pretty fun...a decent 80 show
                            at worst.

                            Guys....

Anyone have any favorite episodes.....so I can check out the cream of
the crop of GAH online without seeing more of the lackluster episodes?
                            Just curious.

I like the pilot episode and the one called "the Hit Car" from season 1. Season 2 has some good ones, too: "Operation Spoilsport,"(you've seen) "The Beast in the Black," "Plague" and "Don't Mess Around with Jim". I bought the three seasons one at a time and actually have them next to me now. I have to be honest that I like them all. Even the silly ones, but I like banter between the characters and to me that makes the show.
                              It's all good!
