The blue Kryptonite takes away Kryptonians super powers while they are exposed to it. Once it is removed from them the powers come back.

Last season there was a old kryptonian who wore a piece in a bracelet so that he would be human.

I must say that this finale was a lot better than last year's. They tried to make up for the pathetic Clark/Doomsday fight with Clark/Zod fight. It was interesting to see the reflection of the Supes suit in his eyes.

            ^Yep. Marc McClure.

I enjoyed it. BIG improvement over last year's headscratcher, which sent me packing for the beginning of this season (I caught up, mostly).

I was disappointed that the League/Society was only seen in headshots on TV screens. But other than that, I was satisifed with the rest. Clark is at least ACTING like Superman now, and we got to see him knock the crud out of Zod. And their non-powered fight was pretty good too.

Not sure who was after Ollie, but that was a nice hook.

I thought Lex too in the Tess scene. Cassiday Freeman said in an interview she hopes she comes back, so don't count her out yet. I kind of like the fact they've made her character a total sichophant, looking to latch on to someone.

As for Lex coming back, Rosenbaum says "no". I bet they could probably convince him to show up in the last few episodes, but he has a series coming on SyFy this fall, so he's busy.

All-in-all, one of the better finales, and I hope they make good on the Super-suit promise, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm betting the film arm of WB is putting the kibosh on that.

But he does need to fly already. Superman is THE flying hero. And even Stargirl can fly, but not him. Wrong.

Why can I not recall this episode for the life of me??
I have seen EVERY Smallville episode since Day 1 and even have the first 5 seasons on DVD (so far).

Very Good finale to a Great season. I was hoping that they'd get rid of the no flight rule in this episode (and still hope they might lead with it in the season premiere). I have no issues with the no tights rule. I like that Lois seems to realize Clark is "The Blur" at the end, but suspect they will still play it like she is ignorant, somehow explaining it all away.

Season Premiere, I hope Clark loses the blue kryptonite mid air, flips over and does a hover thing before he smashes into the ground. And lets Jump the Shark on the Clark / Lois relationship since this is likely the last season anyway. Michael Rosenbaum coming back would totally rock though.

Nitpick of the week, why is Lex running for president in 2013, isn't that a year after the 2012 elections?

That could go one of two ways, one that she knows Clark is the blur. The other is that she knows Clark was innocent since Zod was manipulating her the whole time.

So it's like Gold Kryptonite in the comics!

In the comics Blue is the stuff that is harmless to Kryptonians, but deadly to Bizarros right?

I actually caught this when it aired (Usually have to catch up later) and thought it was cool.

He would actually take office in Jan. '13 though the election is held the preceding Nov.

the bigger issue I see is that Lex in the series is not old enough to be president. Wasn't he 22 when the showed started. that would only make him 33 in 2012 and you have to be 35.

Actually I think blue Kryptonite was used to kill Bizzaro in one of the Smallville episodes so it seems to have dual purposes for the show.
