Yup. What made the comic so awesome was everyone ELSE. You KNEW the story was done once Dredd showed up, they never disguised that. The kick was watching the insane crimes that took place and the weird characters committing them. That was one of the reasons (the MANY reasons) the first film blew so hard: they tried to make Dredd a character. "Oh no! I'm actually a clone!!!" In the comic he always knew. And didn't care.
....the armoured codpiece only added to the fail....
