Doesn't surprise me....I think the majority of these have been more miss than hitThink OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging! -
Since I've got to believe that the greater part of the audience for these animated features were already comics fans, perhaps telling classic stories - like Teen Titans The Judas Contract rather than origins - WW, GL - yet again might've drawn more interest. The general non-comics reading public understands the idea of superheroes by now. Isn't constantly telling superhero origin stories like doing a western and taking much of the feature time to explain what a cowboy is?.Comment

It surprises me. I thought these were doing well. I guess they are...but Warners is impatient, and expects them to sell like a new-to-DVD blockbuster theatrical release, which ain't going to happen.
A shame Batgirl: Year One got canceled. That was a great mini.
I hope Warners is smart enough to keep Timm on the payroll. Hey, if he ain't busy, put him charge of the comics, okay?

NOOOOOOOO! Really disappointed at the cancellation of Judas Contract.
Warner's really needs to take the "Evergreen" approach to this like Disney does, particularly if it takes a while to show profits. Over the long run, Disney films that were originally a box office disappointment like Labarynth, Dark Crystal and most of the seventies animated films all eventually went on to be quite profitable through all the rereleases, particularly taking into account all the different format releases.Comment

WW left me cold, and GL was mediocre at best. Definitely a rental only. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

Yeah the GL is the one that made me think twice about grabbing each and every one of these. Wonder Woman looked like a stinker to begin with. Superman/Batman Public Enemies looked good...don't know why I haven't bought it yet. But the recent JLA Crisis didn't excite me either. The only REALLY good one I've liked 100% was New Frontier. I think my problem is I keep comparing everything to that one...Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Well I liked all the Cartoons.
were they BlockBuster's ..., no ..., but they were fun to watch with the Boy.
Sad to hear this news.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
always trading for Hot Toys Figures .Comment

If GL can't sell a cartoon, can he sell a movie? You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

A big-budget movie with a big-budget publicity/marekting push is a lot different than a niche direct-to-DVD endeavor....and don't discount what toys and shirts and cereal and whatnot can do for a movie's buzzThink OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Too Bad I liked WW she beat the Crap out of everybody in that movie...Oh well there goes my chance for a B'wanna Beast movie....Comment

My kids and I enjoyed all of them. Hopefully things will change and they will branch out again with more than Batman and JLA stories. I don't get all the sadness over the Judas Contract personally. I wasn't a Titan reader so I borrowed the Judas Contract trade paperback from the library to read it. It was OK but, it seemed like they would have to either cut a lot out, or make it longer to explain all the back stories. It seemed to fit better in the Titan tv series they did. Saw that with the kids when it aired. It fit better in a series rather as a stand alone story.Comment

I didn't like Superman: Doomsday or the Batman Gotham Nights. I liked all the rest though.
I hope they finish the Red Hood story. I want more Nightwing.
I didn't know about a Batgirl Year One feature but now I'm sad we wont get it.Comment
