Wow! You guys must have been "rich" to afford all of those titles every single month!

Not quite my "subscription", but here's what I would scour from the variety and drug stores with my allowance and paper money....

      Alpha Flight
      Fantastic Four
      X-Men
      New Mutants
      West Coast Avengers
      Official Handbook MU
      New Teen Titans
      Justice League

It would be a few more years before I was old enough to go downtown by myself and discover comic book shops.

The funny thing looking at my list... they are all team books! I must have been trying to get my money's worth... can't afford Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Flash etc., but here they all are in ONE BOOK!

I think I also spent a great deal of time reading comics in the store as well.

That is similar to my book fair selections when I was a little younger. "Here mom, I want these." I always had top pare it down to two or three.

I didn't start really collecting till about 86. I was 10. I did have comics before then but they were all random.

          My 86 pull list:
          Batman
          Detective
          GIJoe
          Transformers
Any Special Batman books I'd come across.

Keep in mind the cover price was a LOT cheaper back then...probably 60 or 75 cents...

It would be a few more years before I was old enough to go downtown by myself and discover comic book shops.
Most of my stuff was from careful scouring of several newsstands in the area...occasionally I'd get to Reader's Island at the mall or a hole-in-the-wall comic shop about 25 minutes away.

I'd been collecting pretty much since around '77, '79 was the year I first bought an Overstreet Guide.

Memory is dodgy but I seem to remember my file at the "book between" being:

                  Alpha Flight
                  Kazar
                  Doctor Who Monthly
                  Captain Carrot

This was my first price guide. It was a gift from my mom.

Of your list, the ones I was getting were probably the following:

                      Daredevil

                      Fantastic Four

                      Blue Devil

                      DC Comics Presents

                      Fury of Firestorm

                      New Teen Titans

Although I was also getting other books like Superman, Action, World's Finest, Superboy, Supergirl..etc.

The Marvel side of your list was pretty close to mine(remove Dreadstar and add Micronauts), not so much DC stuff, tho. Teen Titans and BATO.

Anthony, I hope you were getting Detective Comics back then too, since it and Batman were connected every month! If not, you only got half the story!

Back then I had no access to a comic shop. It was all newstand, so I was probably getting these (when I could find them)

                          Action
                          Superman
                          All-Star Squadron
Batman and the Outsiders (but I really missed B&B)
                          Batman
                          Detective
                          Captain Carrot
                          DC Comics Presents
Flash (I dropped it once I realized the trial would never end)
Green Lantern (I always had trouble finding GL on a regular basis)
                          JLA
New Teen Titans (almost impossible to come across every issue here)

                          Amazing Spider-Man
                          Peter Parker
                          Captain America

                          Chris

I probably was but it wasn't checked off on the list...That was most likely around the time of Doug Moench's run I assume?
