Matthew Vaughn confirmed for X-Men First Class

Matthew Vaughn Official On - Comic Book Resources

Good choice. I really enjoyed Layer Cake, Stardust and Kick ***. I was actually hoping that he'd helm Thor.

Who do you want to see in the "First Class"?

Cyclops, Jean Grey and Beast would seem to be logical choices.

Emma Frost (given her appearance in Wolverine)? Storm?

Angel is not likely since he "debuted" in the third movie. Ditto Ice Man in parts 1, 2 and 3.

Any dream casting? Who'd make a good younger version of Professor X and Magneto?

Are they taking the old movies into account or is this a reboot?

With Bryan Singer and Lauren Donner producing I'd say it's supposed to fit right in with the original three movies and Wolverine.

Is the Magneto prequel still in the works?

Jason Flemyng is the new Quartermass. Do you think he'd make a good Professor X?

I'm very happy...Matthew Vaughn is a great choice(loved Layer Cake!)! And Bryan Singer and Lauren Donner producing is a big plus...I just hope they can keep Tom Rothman far away from this Movie.

I also hope it's a true "re-boot", and they ignore the previous Movies...and go with the original X-Men: Cyclops, Jean, Angel, Beast & Iceman.

I think they picked a good director for this. Wolverine Origins really killed the franchise for me so I hope its a reboot.

Same here...Wolverine could have been a really great movie, but they BLEW IT! I hope with Singer around as a Producer, that they get a good Director & Writer to adapt Frank Miller's Japan Story.

Oh, and X-3 was absolutely HORRIBLE!

My choice as well, Michael Rosenbaum as Xavier. And James McAvoy as Magnito!

I hope the movie focuses on Xavier and Magnus, maybe show some of the original X-Men as youths as well as some of Magneto's early Brotherhood. Show how Xavier is crippled

The next movie could be the original X-Men vs. Magneto.

Vaughn's a good choice of director. Hopefully, they basically let him do what he wants.

Rumor has it, that was his main sticking point...more creative control(like WB gives Chris Nolan). Maybe with Brian Singer pushing Fox for this, and hopefully keeping Tom Rothman away from the Picture.

After "Superman Returns" Bryan Singer should never be allowed a cape or tights ever again IMO.

Opinion noted. Personally...I liked "Superman Returns". But I do think X-Men is more his style. X-Men 1 & 2, were two of the best Comic Book Movies made.
