^^^ I prefer the miniseries/trade format for it. UA would probably suffer as an ongoing.

very solid reads. Dark Horse continues to impress me.

Wild Hunt was incredible. But Umbrella Academy is also really good, which is surprising, but true.

it would definitely suffer as an ongoing, one because it would be padded with schlock, and two, Gerard wouldn't be able to write it all the time, as comics are his second job.

^^^ He should really quit his first job, My Chemical Romance is lame.

                but some people like it.

                as does Gerard.

I dig a few of the songs.

plus, MCR makes more money than UA.

I'm not quite sure that is the case given the number of crazy ideas that seem to be jam packed in every issue of Umbrella Academy. Each issue of UA seems to refer to a half dozen other storylines from the past which could easily fill out an ongoing given the rich history and number of characters they have thus far only hinted at. I'm also deadly curious about each of the character's own individual lives and adventures while they were broken up.

Given the schedule of Hellboy and it's related books, it's practically an ongoing (or bi-weekly) already. I think UA could also work in that format, a series of miniseries/one-shots focusing on different characters and events in the UA world.

Hellboy itself is nowhere near monthly, there was even a several month break during the Wild Hunt. Sure if you throw in BPRD, which is a much weaker book, it gets closer to a monthly.

That is why I said "and it's related books".

I think John Arcudi and Richard Corben would be perfect on a Spaceboy one-shot or mini. Let Kelly Jones draw Seance. Geoff Darrow could do a #5 short.

I stopped getting BPRD after the first few trades, it really lost a lot of its speed with the Abe Sapien origin story and the next arc. Still think UA as a concept would wear thin after 12 issues or so as a monthly. After all its just Village of the Damned meets XMen.
