Next Batman film opens July 20th, 2012

Looks like a huge summer for geek films.

Star Trek sequel. Avengers. Spiderman Reboot.

Nolan is back for the third Batman film and is writing the script with comics go-to scriptwriter (and former JSA Comics writer) David Goyer.

Ya know I was never a big enough RINGS fan to see
the trilogy in the theatres/at home no matter how much good stuff was
            said about 'em.

HOWEVER, I was always interested in previews or commericals/trailers
or whatever whenever they showed GOLLUM because I loved him in the animated movie-----so much so that many a time when I've been
at a friends' house I've skipped to the "riddle" scene in the book just
to get that creepy feeling again from that scene.

Point being, that it'll be pretty cool to see that GOLLUM cave stuff
onscreen-----not to mention the DRAGON/invisible Bilbo scene
            and the spiders scene.

This one will have to get me into the theatre!

I've been hearing a lot of that the past decade

Maybe its inevitable that I'll see it.

I think it beats either SW trilogy. I find it best to watch it in installments

I'll never say "never"....but, yes, I somehow dodged the whole trilogy...
                      and it wasn't easy.

And even tho' I'll keep an open mind...I'd be shocked if I watched
the LOTR trilogy and thought they were better than "good"/"okay"...I'm
just a hard sell these days...for starters, I wasn't big on
the recent MATRIX or POTC trilogies...and I've never even laid an eye on the
POTTER movies....that's just the tip of the iceberg on how apathetic I've
been to movies (particularly of the fantasy/action genre) in the last
                      ten years or so.

Finally, the official announcement. Jett's Batman on Film was right on the money again. Great site for Bat-movie info minus the BS.

I hate to admit, but I only saw the first LOTR movie. They came out when my son was very young, and I had a hard time making it to theaters then. I really want to watch them, but their length keeps me from slotting in time for it. I like to "do it up right" for movies like that.

Its a shame but i think Spidey reboot is going to get his ***** kicked all over the park by BatMan 3. If they had kept the original cast and director, things might have been different.
