'Jonah Hex' Trailer Explodes Online - Cinematical

Noticed the movie trailer on line.
I see some things I really like and some things that I really don't.
They've changed his origin and now he has gadgets and powers???...blah.
It looks similar to van helsing with Hugh jackman...meh not pleased over that.

I'm with you...this doesnt look like Hex to me. I was worried when I heard pre screenings didnt go over well, but I'm down right terrified they screwed it up after seeing this.
I'm no fan of heavy metal music either,especially for a western film soundtrack.

I would have appreciated a good western story.
They certainly had the right ingredients with this character.

It's Jonah Hex for pete's sake! Does anyone care? Can you believe there is actually a JH movie?
It looks like a fairly fun movie and they licensed a DC character.

As far as how he looks - it seems pretty dead on to me.

I never in a million years thought they'd make a Jonah Hex movie. I don't know anything about the character aside from what I saw in Batman the Animated Series and Justice League.
I think I'll keep it that way till after I see the movie. Then I'll learn about what he's really about.

Heck yeah I'll be first in line.I'll buy it on DVD,I'll try to get the movie posters you name it.
I am sure the film will be okay for a casual fan or non fan but for a diehard fan like myself(30 odd years) I can't help but feel slightly disappointed by some of the aspects I have seen so far.
Now on the other hand there are several classic Jonah moments in the clip as well that were really cool to see!!!(the coffin scene and the what happened to your face scene)

Not trying to bash it as I haven't seen it yet but I am beginning to understand how batman fans have felt.

Also is it just me or does he sound kinda like billy bob thornton in sling blade???

The raising the dead angle is out of left field, and may be hard to forgive, but the rest seems to work.

Honestly, Hex has been played like a straight western, a future apocalyptic story, and a horror western. So in a way, this combines the three.

It looks interesting, and he certainly looks and sounds the part. I'll check it out.

^ I prefer the straight western myself....In fact, that's the current version that DC is peddling so I'm not sure why they went with the horror aspect from the Lansdale/Truman version that was last seen over 10 years ago....What happened with all of the supposed synergy DC/Time Warner has been talking about this past year?

Yeah, why not just do a good western. The gimmick with Hex is that the protagonist is an ugly son of a gun not the supernatural. It's already being compared to Wild Wild West, which would make this film a Catwoman type failure.

On a week where word got out that DC Entertainment axed sequels to both the Wonder Woman and Green Lantern direct to DVD movies as well as the Batgirl Year One movie that was in the works, this is more bad news for DC and its fans.

This movie looks like the offspring of Frank Castle, Josey Wales, and some weird Vertigo character. I was hoping for the despicable, selfish version in the comics right now. The resurrection really knocks me off kilter. I also wish they would have made his hair a little more accurate.

A good western, Wasn't that Sharon Stone western movie suppose to be a good western also?
The movie looks interesting, just suprised with the new fad it's not in 3-D.
Let's not forget, it has to compete with the other movies out there to capture the short attention spans of the movie going audience. So yes, in order to survive and profit, they put a diffrent spin on it, strange powers and gadets and all, It is just like the new start trek movie, It would have been a great movie if Star Trek never existed, just like Johan Hex, if there was never a comic, this would be a really good movie, but alas, Just like TREK, there is another, and some people are against it. I am for original series,always have and will be, but lets get over it and get a good movie to take everyones mind off the crappy TWILIGHT series,,,, which is pure crap....
