    Favorite items in your collection...

Could be a comic...could be original art...could be anything that you have in your collection that relates to comics. Here's one of my favorite pieces in my collection:

Wings logo is there just in case someone may want to "borrow" the image. Bought this bad boy back when I started on ebay...a bargain at $130. I love the "Marvel Bullpen Triangle" as I like to call it. Kirby, Lee, and Romita original signatures with a great pencil sketch of Spidey/Parker. Also, opposite page Larry Hama Iron Fist Pencil sketch. BTW, anyone know who Sam Maroni is...

I wish I would have been able to have gotten these in person...but I was only 5 or 6 years old when this convention happened. Anyone else have any favorites in their collection??

    My mind is officially blown!

    $130?! Wow.

A quick google search shows that Sam Maronie wrote for a couple of Savage Sword of Conans, the Planet of the Apes Magazine and was an interviewer for Starlog as well as being an active member of the fan community.

I have a few nice comicon sketches. Most them are just the free ones that artists do on backboards. I don't have any scans at the moment, but I think my most unusual would have to be the "drunk Wonder Woman" that Adam Hughes sketched on a napkin from the hotel bar at my first Pittsburgh Comicon. I also recently got Patrick Block to do a duck version of the Red Tornado for me.

Edited to ask: Before I scan anything, how do I add watermarks?
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

Three more sketches from one of favorite artists/writers...and he's just an all around great person to be around and talk comics:

The speed that he did these sketches at was amazing...The first 2 sketches, Loki and Dark Phoenix, were done at the 1st signing at my friends comic store back in '83. X-Men/Titans had just come out. The Darkseid sketch was done at Walt's second signing around Thor 340 or 341. Walt is one of the best in the business.

I have a Steve Skroce sketch of Nightwing.
Jai Lee drew a Batman for me.
I have a book signed by Carmine Infantino who is one of my all time favorites.

I should add that my Grandmother gave my late Uncle's comic collection to me just a few days ago. I haven't read them yet. He had about 130 books, most of them Conan. He had some Lee/Kirby Hulks. They're special to me because they belonged to my Uncle. I'll never part with them. My Uncle got me into comics when I was a kid and he taught me how to draw.

This one isn't mine it's a print. The one I have is signed though.
I would like to get it framed and matted not really worth much but I love it.

Within my Amazing Spider-Man collection lie my favorites a run from about #228-#245. Not for the stories either. Unlike the majority of the comics I own these are the real deal from my childhood. Some were purchased at the store across the street during monthly trips to my grandparents house. A badly worn #230 I purchased during a childhood trip to Florida that is the only survivor among the books I bought. Others purchased a regular trips to a store in town with my best friend at the time. Nothing can replace those for me.

I just recently met Roy Thomas and got his John Hancock, so that's got me pretty jazzed.

My Sketchbook is my pride and joy, but I really love the handful of original pages I've acquired.

if you would like to browse the art I own, you can click HERE Make sure you check out my con sketches, as well as my pages!

but I just bought my first piece of original Cover art this week. It has not arrived yet, but I'm really looking forward to adding it to my collection.

for the record, it's the cover to this issue:
