One has to wonder if future generations will see more commonality with Snoopy and say the Paul Frank Monkey or Lacost Alligator, than the original comic strip.

On the flipside, I hope that Fantagraphics gets to keep the entire Peanuts continually in print for decades. I'm really loving rediscovering the early work and the evolution of the characters. It's funny how you start to take certain things for granted until they are gone.

That Chip Kidd retrospective book is gorgeous as well.
