    New Jonah Hex pic

Not sure if anybody has seen this one yet?
I just found it looks good.I would have liked to see something done with the eye but this looks good to me.

They may have shied away from the big eye due to Two-Face. It's the thing that really makes them look a like, and obviously Two-Face was done well in Dark Knight so...

This looks good. I'm looking forward to it. We don't get enough westerns nowadays. I know they went the Lansdale horror route with this one, but I think that will make it stand out more.

I think it looks fine. I agree it would have been nice if the eye had been done as well, but I'm not displeased with this at all. I also approve of the horror element, although the original comic had minimal supernatural content.
I always wondered about Jonah's eye and whether he could see with it. If he was blind in that eye, wouldn't his aim be affected?

They tried the eye, but it lead to severe medical problems for Josh Brolin, and they didn't have the budget to do it digitally. From io9.com's article accompanying the picture:

Notice that the actor playing Hex, Josh Brolin doesn't have the fully exposed eyeball, like in the comic. This is because Brolin almost lost his eye trying to recreate Hex's bug-eye in real life. The actor explained this to us back at SDCC:

"Then the eye thing, that was - I wasn't going to bring that up. Jonah Hex is a comic book, it's drawn. In reality if Jonah Hex had an eye like that, it would be a little raisin somewhere back in his brain, you know what I mean? We thought about [making a computer-generated eye], but we didn't have the money to CG and all that stuff, and we really didn't want to.

"I tried is, I pulled it down, and within an hour my eye started to get infected, before I realized I'm not that committed of an actor...that I was willing to lose [an eye]... actually, I fought for it, for a little while."

Yes,but they could have not pulled it down and perhaps just used a white contact. It still would have gave it a certain look.

Regardless I am still digging this make up and can't wait for the film to launch!!!
Brolin is a great actor and I can't wait to see his performance in this part.

A cloudy eye contact or even making the eye somewhat bloodshot might have worked, but I do like the facial make-up, that's pretty much how I pictured Hex's face.
As far as CGI goes, if that was the only other option, I'd rather have actual make-up and a normal eye.

I'm ok with the eyes as is. I thought it would be neat to see the comic book eye, but in hindsight, I'd rather have it realistic rather than more CGI shenanigans.

I hope this movie is ok!!

I've read reports on Dark Horizons about test audiences giving it a unanimous thumbs down. Now everyone is trying to figure out why the studio isnt promoting it at all yet. the preview hasnt even come out, and the film isnt that far away.

I kind of wonder if it isnt going to see a similar fate to Green Hornet. Rumor is it stinks...the studio comes out denying reports they think it stinks....then the bump it from a 2010 release to 2011. I wonder if ol' Jonah isnt going to get bumped to the fall...or winter as well?

I'm hoping this does well just because I don't think there are enough Westerns anymore.

I've heard that they are going to try and adapt Ennis and Wolfer's Streets of Glory.

It's based on the Lansdale comics? I'm guessing the Winter Brothers won't be appearing in film right?

As far as I've read the movie adaption of Jonah is not based on the landsdale comic "riders of the worm"(winter brothers) or "two gun mojo"(zombified gunfighters).

Those were just rumours and speculation.

I would also through my vote in for an adaption of streets of glory.

The only other westerns I am aware of that are coming out are;Gunless and the new true grit film aside from Jonah of course.
If I'm not mistaken I think issue number 56 of the monthly will be a lead into the film.
