My Blackest Night Inspired Art!

Hey guys I did some Blackest Night related art and I thought I would share it with you I hope you like it

introducing: The Peanuts Corps!

First up we have our flying ace, he taught Hal Jordan all his best high flying moves, its Snoopy as the Green Lantern!


Up Next Chuck won't be afraid of missing any more footballs any time soon now that he is a member of the Sinestro Corps!!


The Doctor is in... insanely greedy that is! Here is Lucy clutching her coin jar tightly as an Orange Lantern!


If that doesn't get your blood boiling it certainly did with our next lantern: Woodstock fights with the rage of a Red Lantern!


Poor little guy just needs to hope for a better tomorrow and who is better then the most hopeful of the bunch! All will be well with Linus as the Blue Lantern!


Where her love, her Sweet Baboo is, she is sure to follow! Sally Brown as a Star Sapphire (Pink Lantern)


Some times you just need someone who understands and is compassionate to your needs that is why these two joined a corp together, Marcie and Peppermint Patty as Indigo Lanterns!


Last but not to be least we have the dirtiest scum the filthiest bad guy of them all! he must have freshly crawled through at least six feet of dirt! Pig Pen as the Black Lantern!

After I read Alan Moore's angry comments about how blackest night was (paraphrased) "little more then today's writers riffling through his garbage" so I though if he is "spitting Venom" he may as well spit blood as well

I was reading recently that the GI Joe character Crystal Ball is also being reinvented, and taking a bit of inspiration from Alan Moore.

Thanks I started with Lucy, I remember her going on and on about the jingling sound the coin made when it when into her jar and I think she hugged it, so that one fell into place, then came Charlie and since he was basically wearing a Sinestro Corps outfit any how he was an easy choice. Snoopy's pilot relation made him perfect for working with Hal plus Snoopy is the favorite so of course he would be a GL. Woodstock was known to throw a temper tantrum or two in his day plus I love the idea of how cute he is even when he is angry. Linus is the obvious choice for Blue Lantern due to his biblical and uplifting speeches. Of course the Star Sapphire was an easy choice because she had to be a girl and Sally is always all over Linus. With that Peppermint Patty and Marcie had to be the Indigo Lanterns with Marcie just kind of following PP around she was the lesser Indigo to where PP went all out. And like I said above he looks like he already crawled through at least six feet of dirt so Pig Pen became a Black Lantern. there are two more Characters not shown but the were in my original idea I plan on doing a large picture mimicking the Dance scene and we'll see Franklin in a John Stewart inspired GL costume and Schroeder as an Orange Lantern construct due to Lucy's preoccupation with him. In the coming weeks I should have the time to sit and finish the work on it so I will post it wen I am done thanks for the kind words everyone!

Alan Moore needs to get over himself....his GL stuff was a few throwaway stories...Geoff Johns has crafted an extensive mythology for the GL Corps that Moore could never do because he's so busy back-patting himself.

Oh yeah! I mean I like Moore's work but dang he tossed a few stories out there that obviously Geoff liked enough to weave his tapestry with parts of it and all Moore can do is cry.
