    X-Men 2ND Coming

    Anyone else read this ?
Looks like Finch got 1 more book in ..., before His jump to DC.
Been kinda disapointed with the last 2 X-crossovers ..., they just ended up being a little lack luster, and I wanted more ... I read this book last night ..

Basically Cable and the Child now Late Teen Hope is Back to current time ..
Cyclops ofcourse believes Hope to be the "2nd coming" so to speak of the Mutant race because She is the 1st Mutant born since the Scarlet Witch went Pshyco ***** and erased 90% or so of the Mutants on Earth ... so now there's under 200 . Ofcourse Everyone else wants this chick Dead, and Cable is Her protector. ... So it's a Mad Dash to the finish to get to her and Cable.

I find the Story very interesting .
But ofcourse I do ..., it's So Terminator Meets X-Men , with an Arse Load of Sci-Fi , Fantasy and Action , so I think I will be Glued yet again.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

always trading for Hot Toys Figures .

I've only read the Uncanny X-Men issue since that is the only x-title I read monthly. I'm sure it will be a bit confusing for me until I get the trade in a few months.

I do like how certain things are coming to a head... ie Nightcrawler's reaction to Cyclops sanctioning X-Force.

And as schmaltzy and obvious as it was, there was a nice touch of Cable getting the make-up kit for Hope. Mostly sold on the basis of Terry Dodson's art.

How convoluted would it be if Cable is raising the reincarnation of the woman his mother was cloned from, who in turn raised him in the future time period that he is "currently" raising her, where she telepathically projected herself into a body from that future before returning to the past where she had first met him as an adult...

The X-Men lost me about he time Cable was created. I've tried to read it from time time over the last two decades, but really couldn't get into it. With all the books, it's easier not to buy them than to do it.

I jumped back aboard X-Men after a decade of ignoring it with Grant Morrison's New X-Men and from there followed it into Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men which led into Warren Ellis' current run, and Ed Brubaker's Uncanny run which led into Matt Fraction's.

The problem is the crossovers always lose me because I really don't want to have to follow New Mutants or X-Men Legacy or whatever and have to figure out who all those characters are.

I think Matt Fraction really hit on something by introducing every single character with a two or three line caption stating their name, power and whatever is essential about them. He's the only one I can think of who has made a cast of hundreds work surprisingly well.

NightCrawler just flipped out when X-23 killed someone right infront of Him in 2nd Coming.

                      Fraction and Yost ...
The idea to Make Bastion and His "Minions" really come into the Fold hardcore with only the termination of Mutant kind in mind , really kinda brought me back around a bit .... I read a book here and there, but really have only been reading X-Force and Cable on a regular basis.

Still on my list of books to check out. I was following X-Factor for the first couple of trades as well, and really need to catch up on that one too. From what I've gathered from the crossovers, there's been some real whammy's with Madrox and Siryn's baby, Layla Miller all grown up etc.

Dare I ask how they brought back Cameron Hodge from the techno-organic creature he had become? (or does that hologram imply that he still is an AI construct of some sort?)

It does seem like a smart move to streamline all these anti-Mutant factions under one umbrella, since I can't tell most of them apart anyways, although some of the revivals are kind of surprising... Reverend Stryker!

                            A page from 2nd Coming ...

Cable and Hope are being chased, or were by these Guys until the X-Men showed up ... I liked the whole scene ..., very Terminator/ Matrix-y ...

Maybe it's because it's been well over two decades since Colossus and Wolverine were on the same team together, but I'm still getting a kick out of seeing them do the "Fast-Ball Special" in the latest Uncanny. However, I also appreciate the fact that the current crop of writers don't feel the need for the characters to label it as such in dialogue over and over again. The two of them are in synch, so they just do it.

I'll have to check out Second Coming at least so I can make sense of what is going on.
