    Green Hornet Year One

    Anybody else pick this up?

I like the pulp stuff and this had the feel. Didn't know what to make of the flashbacks (in a pulp), but it all made sense. Like the way the back stories of Britt and Kato seem to parallel each other.

I'll pick up the next one to see where this is going.

I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of anyone else that has read it.

I bought issue #1, it was ok. Much better than the Kevin Smith one.

I'm kinda going to pass on the rest of these though as Now Comics pretty much covered all of this years ago. Maybe it's in the licensing contract that they do a current Britt Reid with a female Kato series, a 1930s origin series, a future Hornet series, a Kato solo series, etc. The book isn't selling at my local shop either, lots of copies left.

Yeah, I flipped through the Kevin Smith book and waved off pretty quick. Too much this and too little that.

I just think the time is ripe for some good Pulp stories and apparently the various publishers are willing to dabble (including the big two), but nothing is getting any traction.

I'm begging for a good Pulp or Western and it just isn't happening. However, this first issue of GH Year One was at least trying.

Jonah Hex is a pretty good Western title. Moonstone does some pulp stuff like Domino Lady but the art is usually lacking. They have a Honey west Private Eye book coming out this summer I'm looking forward to.

Wish Moonstone or someone else would put out an Ellery Queen or Nero Wolfe series or graphic novel. I'd pay extra for those!

They did do some good B/W stuff a couple years back like Bulldog Drummond, Boston Blackie, & other radio noir books. You can pick those up pretty cheap.

I hope I see that....My LCS doesn't seem to carry much, if any, Moonstone stuff....not a lot of interest I guess.

Thanks for the heads up. I have a couple of Boston Blackie radio episodes that I liked and I want to check out the comic. I had no idea it existed.

I do like Jonah Hex. Picked up the issue that Darwyn Cooke did the art in (#50).
Liked his run on The Spirit. (My thanks to Flynne for cluing me in on it.)
