Sorry...I can bend a little, but not break. I can't accept Batman/Bruce Wayne as a middle aged balding little RUNT! Keaton...WAS NOT BATMAN!

I should go catch the DD director's cut at some point. I've heard from quite a few people that it flows better than the theatrical.

The Director's cut is much better. The extra half hour made a big difference. My biggest complaint was they tried to cram to much story line into a 90 minute Movie. That and Gardner was a terrible Elektra...couldn't they have found a Greek Girl(or at least one who looked Greek?).

For what it's worth, I agree with Huedell that a Terry Zwigoff film like Ghost World is much more interesting than most of the Superhero films out there, which probably says more about the state of Hollywood creativity than anything else.

I actually think that the best comic book adaptations have been outside of the Capes and Tights genre. Persepolis, History of Violence, Road to Perdition (despite of the fact that they cast Tom Hanks instead of Gabriel Byrne, who would have been perfect), and even Sin City, all pushed certain cinematic boundaries.

You are way too comitted to those "superhero" movies....the ones you LIKE
                    annnnd the ones you DISLIKE.

Then again, I guess I'd feel the same way if people were devaluing
SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION or AMERICAN BEAUTY in any way.

                    Whatever.

                        Really?

Apparently he was....for thousands of fans.

KUDOS for Keaton as BATMAN...hair-challenged or not.

Not sure what comic fans you know, but most of the ones I've run into have a really hard time accepting change. Most like the same old same old.

Kinda...but from what I can tell, the majority have stuck with the same titles
and characters for decades that have displayed a lot more variations
on a character than one movie could ever accomplish.

Either way, the boatload of complaints over silly details
in movie adaptations have always been there for all to see.

^^^ Yeah, but the y whine like crazy when its a change from the status quo. See Batman, Captain America and the Punisher for examples.
