What are your favourite NEW characters in the DC U?

Who do you think are the best new characters to debut in DC Comics in the past five years?

Here's mine...

Kate Kane. The new Batwoman has been terrifically engaging in her run of Detective Comics by Greg Rucka, and a big part of it is JH Williams brilliant art.

I know she's an update of the 1950's Batwoman, but given the fact that she's a brand new character in everything but name, I'm considering her completely different than Kathy Kane.

And I know HOW he became Blue Beetle is quite controversial, but after seeing Jamie Reyes in Brave and Bold, I have developed a great fondness for him. Plus Cully Hamner's costume is pretty cool.

Larfleeze is sweet too. As is Saint Walker and Atrocitus.

Lois Lane's Sister as the Now Evil Super-Woman ..., is very interesting to Me as well.
BTW ... Looks like Beetle got Dropped for the Back-up story in BoosterGold ..., I dunno what that means, but he wasn't back there this Month. Thank God, Saved A Buck !

As for new characters, I have to agree with Batwoman. Didn't think she was necessary at 1st, but the character has grown on me and I like what Rucka is doing with her.

Don't know what his Teen Titans status is.

He's still with the Titans ..., as of last issue.
I really don't mind him there either, he is written rather funny , His Girlfriend and Aquagirl both try for his love interest, and he's just a Boy with some raging Hormones.


Ravager is still the back up there too ..., Dunno if that 1 got the axe, but as of yet, it did not.

The New Dr. Fate.

Worst new charcter:
The new Blue Bettle-get rid of him or update his Uniform.

New Character, I want to see what will Happen with:
Catgirl or Kitty she is Catwoman Partner.

Wow! I'm actually quite surprised at all the folks who are getting behind the new Batwoman. I was very indifferent about Kate Kane, particularly since she seemed to be created with the Lesbian thing being purely gimmick. I was actually looking forward to Renee Montoya as The Question much more by Rucka since he had made her such a rich character. While Crime Bible was interesting, it wasn't a wholly satisfying narrative for me, whereas Batwoman in Detective really seems to be firing on all cylinders, balancing the action adventure, intrigue and character centric moments and relationships.

And while I know Shilo Norman did originally wear the Mister Miracle uniform in the early nineties, I really did love the contemporary and disorienting take on the New Gods as he stepped fully into the role in Morrison's 7 Soldier's series. Particularly since Kirby did introduce Shilo as Scott Free's apprentice and Mister Miracle is a role that is passed down that way.

Frankenstein and Bulleteer were quite fun as well.
