I like Namor as an Invader and when he was a Anti hero nasty Mother.....I like the Golden age Aquaman but thought he seemed lost in the modern age. Although The way he's been portrayed in the Brave in the Bold flat out cracks me up........
Namor would be great in a rebooted FF movie.....

I like Aquaman as a character. I have since the fist season of Super Friends, which was my first exposure to the character. Since then I've read the majority of the comics featuring him since he got his own series in the 1960s, as well as the Showcase issues and various stories from Adventure comics from the golden age and silver age, but I can't remember any of them being as good as FF 4, Avengers 3, FF annual 1, FF 33, Dare Devil No. 7, and the Iron Man-Subby fight in Tales of Suspense and Tales to Astonish and the Hulk-Subby fight from Tales to Astonish. Of, course, all of those stories are over 40 years old.
Yes, Namor is a prick, but he's a great villain/anti-hero, in my opinion. I also liked him in the Invaders.
Now, I don't think he's the right type of character to carry his own comic. He's more of a in-doses type of character.
To me, Aquaman's at his best as a supporting character in the JLA.
I'll take a great villain over a supporting character any day.
Now, Mera, she's just plain hot. Loved Ramona Fradon and Jim Aparo's art on Aquaman, though, as well as the series Curt Swan drewLast edited by madmarva; Mar 29, '10, 9:45 PM.Leave a comment:

Aquaman all the way....Namor has always been too much of a prick IMO....back and forth, hero and villain....enough already. Plus, Mera is way hotter than Lady Dorma. And if you don't dig redheads, there's always Dolphin.Leave a comment:

!?! Not necessarily--temperament, resolve, & strength/endurance being roughly equal, I think telepathy beats finny wings any day. I don't dislike Namor, but...
I'm a huge Aquaman fan, and hope to see his triumphant return to a place of honor in DC. I loved how he was depicted in Justice.
That Arthur would have throttled Namor.Leave a comment:

I have to go with Aquaman here....but Subby is a close second. For the most part, I have little use for Marvels characters...but the classic ones like Subby I put in a different category all together.Leave a comment:

Although animation would be the way to do here... imagine a Pixar animated (not going to happen, I know) Aquaman in the vein of Finding Nemo! Complete with Giant Saddled Seahorses and Tusky voiced by Eddie Murphy. 8)Leave a comment:

God do I love how sharp Toyfare's parodies are. Although I really do wonder how they would skewer the DC heroes if they did have access to them.Leave a comment:

The Sub-Mariner by a mile...never been into Aquaman at all.
I have a place in my heart for anti-heroes.
I also love his temperament...kinda like WWE's Randy Orton...lol.
He also kinda looks like Spock...
He's also the slightly older character (debut in 1939, as opposed to Aquaman in 1941)...many people seem to forget this.
Besides...in a fight...Namor would turn Aquaman into a pretzel...

I never cared much for Namor. I respect his place in Marvel's history, but that's about it. It seems Marvel can never get a bead on him as either hero or villain. That's kind of interesting, but not for a leading character.
Aquaman came later, but he's just more appealing. His visual is striking and memorable. The orange and green color scheme WORKS. I bought into at first, but overall, the hook-handed, honked off Aquaman was a bad idea. An indulgence by a writer who should have just went off and made his own character.

It's true, about Namor, but anti-heroes never seem to work long-term as a title character in comics.
Interestingly Wikipedia's Namor entry claims he's the first comicbook superhero anti-hero! I didn't know that - I wonder if that's true.Leave a comment:

welll namor won the fight in the access comic but as far as they go they are a wash for me it's a debate over b list heroes. neither one has shown the ability to support a book for an extended period. aquaman has alot more mutlitmedia presnece but really how do you give any credibility to s sea king that has to ride a seadoo (in superfriends) or a sea horse instead of swimingLeave a comment:

I gotta go w/ Aquaman. I've always loved the 60s cartoon. Though Namor's theme song was better.Leave a comment:
