    DC comics on Nickelodeon

Does anyone every remember watching DC Comics on Nickelodeon back in the late 1970s early 1980s?

They would pan and scan silver-age DC books — Green Lantern, Flash, Atom, Hawkman, Adam Strange, Sci-fi and suspense stories even swamp thing — with a narrator reading the comics. There was no Superman or Batman or Wonder Woman or JLA.

They used Wagner's Flight of the Valkyries as intro music.

I was just recounting that to my wife t'other day. I found it funny that I watched that over and over - was fascinated by it; but cannot remember the Green Lantern story that they played so many times.

I am not sure it was Nick tho. It was on the same channel on the box, but in those days many times the channels were shared. Nick would be on until 8 or 9 pm and then something else would take over.

There was also a very bizzare wearable red vacuum cleaner that was on veeeery late on the same channel. Don't remember much more about that one tho.

good times. Wish I knew who put them together, it would be great to see them in that pan and scan format again. Kind of like sitting in your Pop's lap and having him read the books to you.
