Amazon blow out on Marvel Omnibuses

I received the following message:

"** records indicate you recently ordered 'Secret Wars Omnibus'. Unfortunately, due to a pricing error, we sold many more than expected. In fact, we completely sold out — we don't have any in stock right now, and we're not even sure if we'll be able to get more."

sounds like they just decided to yank all the orders and claim they ran out

I got two cancellation emails. they even cancelled the other book I ordered with it.

I apologize to Amazon- they did just e-mail me the cancellation notice. Twice.

Haha - weird. Now I got an email saying the EC Archives I ordered will " actually ship sooner than we originally expected" and a few seconds later I got the cancelation email for the Omnibus books.

I got the dreaded email too. I also got it twice.

I can't say I care for "we sold out" either. Admitting the glitch is okay, but clearly they are still selling these things at the higher price.

It does seem kind of crappy, but if they have it posted on the site somewhere, I guess they got us.

I just checked - the canceled omnibus books I ordered don't say "In Stock" on amazon - so they probably did sell out! They only list that the books that were accidentally on sale are still available through them from other sellers.

I got the notice too from Amazon a couple of hours after the order disappeared. I wonder how many of these orders they actually filled.

I ordered 14 titles. Six were canceled, the other eight are still showing. The Death Of Captain America Omnibus is "Shipping Soon".

Amazon just gave me a $25 promotional certificate for selling out and screwing up my order! Right on!

I guess they had a lot of complaints.
