This is Only a 6 issue mini ..., I dunno, a ton of books I was buying were Mini's .., and a lot of them have rapped up, so I had room for this 1.

DC is launching a Doc Savage and Spirit book out of this. Surprised the Bat-Man isn't getting a book, too.

My husband is pretty burned out on comics and he asked me to over this title for him after reading the Batman/Doc Savage one shot.

The one shot was good, and the previews of the mini in the back of other comics I've gotten have been decent.

I'm willing to give it a go, since there are so few books Jim will read.

After reading the first issue, I gotta say I liked it. The Spirit part was pretty good, not too different so far from the original, but I understand that Ebony will be changing, so we'll see how that goes.
The Doc Savage part so far was pretty good, was a change from the original death scene of his father, but again, so far nothing radical. From some of the interviews Azzarello was giving, I expected something really out there. I understand Pat Savage will now be his sister instead of his cousin, although that could be a mistake in the promo material? Monk & Ham were good as portrayed, and there was no Batman (which didn't matter to me anyway).
Great art on the book..it actually looked great in the B/W previews DC was showing as well.

Plus John Sunlight? Cool.

cool, is John Sunlight one of the main villains? Be neat if there was a Legion of Doom type group with him, The Octopus and the Joker.

That would be a cool grouping of villains...but I'm thinking Professor Hugo Strange & his Monster-Men would be a better fit.

John Sunlight appears with hints of a master plotline, so we'll see where that goes.

The Blackhawks & Rima appeared very briefly in the book as well. Neither will be anything like the classic versions it would seem.
