Voice Casting for DC Animated Films

Do you like the fact that they reinvent the look and casting of each of the DCU animated films or would you prefer for them to have more consistency and continuity between them?

Who have been your favourite voice actors thus far for which characters?

I like the voices from the animated TV shows from the 1990s and JLU, but I don't mind them shaking things up.

Bruce Timm has said the movies aren't in continuity with the other shows, so I think it's fun.

Some choices have been better than others. I'm interested to hear Mark Harmon as Superman on the JLA flick that comes out on Tuesday.

Always thought he would have been a good live-action Hal Jordan, when Harmon was younger.

personally I like it to be consistent, I always associate a lot of the Justice League voices with their characters when they appear in any animation film, Such as Lex luthor/Clancy Brown, Batman/Kevin Conroy, Superman/Tim Daly and such. Whenever a new animation comes out and they have another actor voice any of the Justice Leaguers it just doesn't sound right to me and diminishes the enjoyment of watching the film. Sometimes they can play it off, but for the most part I would rather have the same voice actors play their respective counterparts.

As long as it's a good story, I don't mind if it's not in continuity!

Don't really care as long as the voice suits the character. Bader as Bats in Brave and the Bold fits perfect.

Well...Batman/Kevin Conroy, Superman/Tim Daly are just perfect to me!

That said...Bruce Greenwood doing Batman in the up coming "Under THe Red Hood" might be pretty good. Greenwood is a good Actor, and I really think he can pull it of.

HATED the Voice of Batman in "New Frontier".

Did you like Daly's performance in Braniac Attacks? it seemed wooden (but that could have been the awful script)
While Kevin Conroy was the voice of batman for a generation (93-2005 the same way Olan Soule had been from 68-82) the voice of superman hasn't been consistant at all since the death of Bud Collyer (George Newburn replaced Daly for the JL/JLU series, really the longest run is Danny Dark in superfreinds)

Some voices just work for a character but I am ok with recasting for each film but they have to be the right voice for the role
I really didn't like Chris Meloni's Hal Jordon but Rino Ramano was actually decent in THE BATMAN

I never would have thought Bader would work for batman but I love him on B & B

Yeah, I just didn't find him memorable, I'd never be able to pick his voice out if I saw him in a movie. Done that with Conroy, Soule and Bader would be too easy.

Bader is ok, and I see why they went with him (to help distinquish B&B from previous Bat-toons)....but Conroy is the better Bat choice in my opinion.

As for the direct to DVD films, since each one is kind of its own entity, I can see them wanting new people each time.
