I picked up GL #51....nothing special about the cover nor the story inside.....probably solicited it that way to hype the event even moreso

Yeah, again these issues are more filler, padding out an already overlong storyline. Nothing to see here, move along...a continuation of an unnecessary battle with the Spectre and some weird stuff with Mogo.

      Let's end this already, please?

I have noticed something though, I mentioned this before with reference to the action figures, but I think a clue to heroes being resurrected lies in the coloring of such. Some Black Lanterns are all grey & black, while others like Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, the Hawks, Green Arrow still have a tinge of original color to them.
Does that mean anything? Probably, it looks planned that way. Does it eliminate non-color heroes like the Dibnys? Maybe not, I hope not, we'll see. Firestorm is all black and yet I suspect he will return. Of course, it could be a NEW Firestorm altogether with the elemental part inhabiting somebody else.

^ I'm thinking we'll definitely see Aquaman (obviously) and the Hawks (since they were killed only to advance the plot of the BN storyline). Green Arrow is a no-brainer, since again just a plot device. Firestorm I have the feeling that he'll be a Ronnie Raymond/Jason Rausch combo, just like we recently saw on the Brave and the Bold cartoon. There is some DC synergy going on with the cartoon.

Martian Manhunter I think needs some sort of fixing since DC has messed him up pretty badly as of late. Aquaman is going to get the Geoff Johns treatment no doubt. As for the Hawks, it seems like they're going to be put back where Johns sort of left them and ignore that recent Jim Starlin junk.

As for the Dibnys, even though I love 'em, I think character-wise, they'd still be better served as being some sort of Ghost Detectives. That would have some sales potential as opposed to a live husband/wife travelling the country solving mysteries.

This was originally solicited as being a tight, in/out mini-series with very little cross-overs/additional mini-series....What happened to that?

I guess there's a Greg Horn variant for GL #51.....maybe THAT was the secret?

It sold pretty well, and the cash train started up. The only sad part is that Dan Didio can't take the cash & go to DisneyWorld anymore, because Marvel won't let him come in now

The bad part is that in order to cash in, they need to do these rush mini-series, none of which really matter to the main story and are basically 'red sky' fillers. Same thing happened with the Sinestro books, all those Superboy Prime & Parallax one shots that were pretty much useless.

The only thing that's surprised me with the BN stuff was a few of the revival title one-shots, especially Atom/Hawkman & Starman, that were pretty well done.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Dibnys as a Ghost Detective team, so long as they find a way to materialize them to interact with real people & not have them jump into folks like Deadman does. And have their existance as such known to the general superhero public, at least to the JLA members. They could live naturally as humans in Nanda Parbat, but travel around on cases as ghosts.
I think that actually might be pretty interesting. I see Sue maybe as a mystery novel writer who gets contacted about mysterious cases and then she & Ralph go solve them, albeit as ghosts. And keep those two as the only supernatural part of the mystery, debunking other ghostly cases, sort of like they used to do with Dr. Thirteen. They should not be involved with cosmic mystical stuff, that's kinda what ruined Deadman (the classic stuff was just Boston Brand hunting down his killer).

Ralph would have Casper-ish powers, so no longer need the Elongated Man identity, thereby clearing the path for Plastic Man to be DC's only stretcher. I would buy such a series...now if they could get Garcia-Lopez to draw it!

I don't really care for ElongatedMan ..., Never Did, so when He came back as a BL ..., I was Happy that He Exited as fast as He Entered. .... I just like PlasticMan More, and like everyone Using PL More, Now since Ralph is in the Grave.

It is a Tight Series imo ... You Only Have to Read BL, GL & Corps to get the Real Story, everything Else is Added, for the people that Like it. ... It Ends Next Moth ..., if you are a Completest..., you only have like 4to6 Books Left to Buy, So Stop Yeah *****'in ...
