That's what I figured too...she has been wearing clothes in the comics for a bit now but I betcha there was some retailer complaints there as well.

But she's been running around nekkid for close to two decades now before they put her in lycra workout clothes from lululemon.

I would consider that do to a mix of sexism and horny fanboy service.

It's okay to have an attractive furry woman woman run around naked but Manbat wears pants. It's a double standard when very human looking Cheetah (who is generally drawn as a buxom attractive woman and the only things really werecat about her are the spots, tail and long fingernails) has to run around her birthday suit and very animal looking Manbat gets pants.

If they've finally clothed her in the comics, it's about time.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Nobody wants to see a Man-Bat dork, and I'm betting he has nards.

              I don't know if you're a girl or guy marva...but, to me,
I'm thinking that's the idea that both men and women
would share regarding the "MAN-BAT vs. CHEETAH " clothing question.

I don't look at it as sexist or anything like that...it's just the
way most of society thinks....what they prefer.

Yeah...I'm sure most women think that way.

I know I'm going to regret this but...

Oh, come on Hue, of course some sexism plays into it.

There's also a hefty amount of pandoring to the predominately male audience of comics. Comics are full of scantily clad, big butted, gravity defying buxom women, with perpetually arched backs and waists too small to even hold their internal organs. Just look at the sexualized Wonder Woman cover with Her tieing up Cheetah. Super hero comics are full of images like that.

I make jokes about it too, but I'm honest enough to realize it and admit it. All jokes aside, Cheetah is still very human looking and still has human female breasts and vagina. It is honestly kind of sexist to have her running around naked.

Besides, it's kind of a moot point anyways. I double checked some of my Wondy issues and Cheetah was already wearing clothes in that and those issues were from four years ago.

Part of that is 'cos you can ignore female characteristics easier. (Like nipples.) But if you've got a dude with no noticable sexual traits it leads to some awkward questions. (Were you in an accident, mister?)

I honestly was going to mention him earlier but decided against because it's not a fair comparison. The short lived Sebastian Ballesteros Cheetah was much hairier, beastial and traditionally were-creature looking. Plus they removed his privates.

                        [edit]

I wanted to elaborate a bit.

The Male Cheetah was drawn as a traditional were-creature and was meant to be scary in the traditional monster sense. The female Cheetah is generally drawn to be sexy busty cat girl for fanboys.

I'm not even saying that's a bad thing. But it's not honest to deny they are obviously pandoring to their male audience. Women in comics are generally drawn to be attractive to their male audience. Male characters are drawn to be idolized versions of the male readers fantasy selves.

I should elaborate as well. My point on the male Cheetah is that creator Phil Jiminez is on record as being gay, and it's been pointed out to me by friends who are gay fanboys that often the reverse is true when it comes to Wonder Woman... particularly given the appeal of the runs of Jimenez and George Perez (who also both seem to have larger ratios of female fans on Titans and WW).

But I think this is the strength and weakness of the Wonder Woman concept which has been imbued in sexual ambiguity from the beginning given the polyamorous/bisexual relationship creator William Marston shared between his wife and another woman.

While Batman and Superman hold their concepts quite readily over time, Wonder Woman has always had to balance whatever contemporary concept of womanhood was in vogue at any paricular era with the push and pull of a multi-sexual subtext.

Ouch! I really didn't have anything to elaborate with, but your feelings
of dread were so inspiring, I thought maybe I'd say something else on the

                              Yes...from what I've seen I agree. I just don't think there's anything wrong
with this brand of "pandering". It's entertainment after all and not
