I find myself liking him as a fill in. I'm sure there's lots of people not happy but i'm liking how they're handling the character this time around

Is Mon-El taking over Adventure Comics? I thought it was going to be a Legion of Super-Heroes but now I see in the new DC solicits that a LSH #1 & ongoing is coming and Adventure has a Mon-El story.
Maybe it's just a holding pattern and eventually Aquaman will get the title back again.

^ Adventure Comic is not off to a stellar start....first it's Geoff Johns and the Legion, then Johns bails....now the Legion bails....I hope they put something lasting and decent in the main slot....Mon-El just doesn't cut it for me.,...

Yeah, I was excited to see the title return, and even the goofy numbering on the variants lead me to believe that at some point the 500 series numbers would be reinstated. The whole relaunch seems to not be very well-planned anyway if they were working month to month and scrapping the lead after only 5 months. But the LSH getting another ongoing that quick sounds like it was something Levitz wanted and not the original plan.

I think Superboy was a poor choice for a starring role anyway...while he does have his share of fans, the character is pretty aimless and derivative. The little plot of his keeping notes on what Superman would have done and then doing the same only emphasizes this. And while the original Superboy certainly was a miniature Superman in look & powers, the stories themselves were more family based, smaller in scope and with a little more humor than the Superman stories. This version of Superboy is just angst & hormones, with none of the fun & humor. Maybe if he goes away and gets a personality he may work out. Even the prior Superboy had a better series, at least there was some excitement (the Kamandi issues in particular were fun).

I haven't been following the Super-titles so I can't really comment on Mon-El as he is now. Don't care for the costume they gave him. The 90s VALOR series was something I liked, so maybe he can make a go solo.

I'd much rather see the Guardian go solo in Adventure. I'm thinking DC has decided Adventure is a Superman title. Maybe a Lois or Jimmy rotating series again might work? Or maybe they intend to use Adventure as a spotlight for individual Legionnaires or mini-team ups of the members and there will be two LSH titles?

Or as I said Aquaman, Starman, or Black Orchid would be great to see revived.
