Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon's "For the Man who has Everything". There is a particularly chlling moment in this issue where Kal comes to the terrifying realization that his son is not real and that Krypton never exploding would not necessarily be a dream come true.

How can you not geek out when Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent first opens up his suit shirt to reveal the big Superman "S" underneath? That's a classic iconic scene.

In the Comics the First time I saw his Golden age Joe Shuster version I was totally hooked.

Here's a scene I never see mentioned ever from Superman:The Movie.

Superman (Reeve) pushes a large boulder down a mountain creating a dam to stop the flooding Colorado River. For one he "changed the course of mighty rivers", two, the way Reeve plays it, the boulder seems to have tremendous weight, and three, John Williams score really kicks in at the moment. It really presents the power of Superman very well.

And of course all the classic moments in the first movie, including the scene in Lois' apartment when Clark comes to pick her up after flying off as Superman. Reeve shows us the change from Clark to Supes and convinces me that someone COULD pull it off. No small feat.

One more moment from the Reeve movies: Superman II (the original Donner/Lester cut), when Clark runs down the alley and changes to Superman at blurring super-speed. Dead-on 1,000 panels Curt Swan drew in the comics. Fantastic.

The Routh plane rescue in Returns is pitch perfect. Best part of the whole movie, bar none.

George Reeves could really barrel through a wall. Always a thrill to see him do it. And his take offs and landings were tops.

For comics, one my favorites was in Kingdom Come #4. Captain Marvel keeps saying Shazam and blasting Supes with magic lightning. Finally he says it and Supes grabs Cap and lets the lightning change him back to Billy Batson. Superman utters "That's enough son".

Earth 2 Superman punching Anti-Monitor out of existence at the end of Crisis was cool as well.
