Who is best suited as The Kingpin's Arch Enemy?

The Punisher? Spider-Man? Daredevil? or Howard the Duck?

What are your favourite Kingpin stories?

Kingpin's criminal empire is so vast, it deserves multiple arch enemies.

I've always thought he works best with Daredevil. They have quite a complex relationship with works well within the gritty underworld context. The born again storyline highlights just how good the two characters work together.

He started as a Spidey villain didn't he? I think he was always used on the light side in that title, like just another crime boss alongside Hammerhead.

        Daredevil.

Spidey already has too many great villains.

The Punisher can fight any ordinary gangsters and thugs...and it will work just fine.

Who cares about Howard the Duck...

No question about it...his long standing battle with DareDevil is EPIC...and very personal.

              I agree with Daredevil...

Although KP started as a Spidey villain, I don't think those kind of characters (Hammerhead, Silvermane, etc.) have always been Spidey's best foes. I prefer the ones that spun out of the original Ditko influence like Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Lizard, Mysterio, etc.

I'm finding this new Punisher Max series to actually be a very good Kingpin origin story. They have told the Kingpin origin a few ways, but this one actually does kind of fit into regular 616 continuity in a compelling way. If you can buy the premise that The Punisher was operating way before Spiderman's encounter with the Kingpin. Given the way Marvel time works and the fact that Frank is a Vietnam war vet and is now pushing his 50's, if you take that as a benchmark.

Which Kingpin origins do you guys prefer?

Writer Jason Aaron has realized (as did previous writer Garth Ennis), that Punisher is an extremely static character and is best served as a catalyst for the characters around him. By having Wilson Fisk running into Frank Castle so early in his career, you've got a very sympathetic portrait of Fisk, his wife Vanessa and his son Richard. And it looks like this is going to be an extended arc that will be running through the new Punisher Max title for a while.

It also builds on recent events in Daredevil, where we learned that Vanessa is not so innocent after all.

                        Same opinion here.

Daredevil's legalistic approach to things made things more interesting.
