Who is Adam Atom?

Just reading the latest Tiny Titans, and I'm guessing Adam Atom is an obscure shrinking DC character? Who is he and where has he appeared in the regular DCU?

Ray Palmer was deaged and became a memeber in the '96 Teen Titans. he later was brought back to his correct age. i think this is supposed to be him with a family. but when Art sees this he'll let you know.

Ray Palmer is there as well, along with The Ant, Ryan, and Molecule. They are hanging out with a guy named Adam Atom.

The writer, Art Baltazar, is being cleaver since he assembled team Nucleus, (a group comprised of several heroes that have adopted the Atom codename) in order to save the Titans. Familiar members in Nucleus include Ryan Choi (Atom from Hong Kong), Adam Cray (Atom featured in Suicide Squad hence Adam Atom), and Ray Palmer (Silver Age Atom). As well, Molecule (from the series 52) and Ant (a character I never heard of) are part of the group too.

Thanks. I didn't realize the Suicide Squad had their own version of Atom as well!

^ That was around the time that the original Silver Age Atom (Ray Palmer) was undercover and Adam Cray filled in as The Atom to throw suspicion off of Ray Palmer's undercover activities....or something like that.
