    Any Tintin Fans?

I've just started rereading some of them and enjoying it a great deal.

What are your favourite Tintin books? Characters?

I had forgotten that Calculus showed up to the books much later. It's interesting to read them as an adult now and see the evolution of Herge's characters and storylines.

I hadn't realized that many of the earliest adventures were redrawn and revised as well.

I love Tintin! They used to be a staple for me along with Marvel/DC comics and Asterix books in the 70s/80s. I'm just about to re-read a lot of them myself, my faves are The Seven Crystal Balls, Land of Black Gold and The Castafiore Emerald.

Herge was such an amazing artist and it was interesting to see his style develop from the first book to the last. Thompson and Thompson are among my all time favourite comic characters.

I'm looking forward to see the upcoming movie.

People used to make fun of my Asterix and Lucky Luke comics......and Laserdiscs...until we went to europe and those were easier to find than X-men books here.

I'm a TINTIN fan,I have all the albums and love them all; plus the 2 movies(with actors) and "Le lac aux requins"
Here in Quebec all the kids grew up with at least one album of Tintin&Milou. They use to say for age 7 to 77 and it's amazing to see that it's enjoyable for kids as much as for adults.

Asterix and Lucky Luke were (are) quite common and popular here. As a kid those were among the comics I read the most, didn't even read a superhero comic till many years later

It's really interesting to me some of the French to English language translations. Particularly when it comes to Captain Haddock's colourful, almost nonsensical tirades. "Blistering Barnacles" etc.

              I didn't realize that the Thom(p)sons weren't actually twins.

                  Hmmmm....

Another one I used to love. Tragicly my collection drowned in a flood years ago. I remember being freaked out as a kid to discover them for the first time during a trip to The World's Biggest Bookstore; only to later learn that they were around for decades before I ever saw them.

I love Tintin!! He was my idol growing up enjoying reading about his endless adventres and encounters with the bad guys. I nagged my parents to get me those Tintin comics books during Xmas and birthdays back in the 1980s I have all of the stories by Herge expect for Tintin and the Picaros. I read this book and never owned that copy too. I keep delaying to buy that copy anyway. I still have the books with me and they are well read and slight wear from age.
I even have that fabled Tintin movie book "The Golden Fleece" translated in English from French published in the 1960s with color techcolor pictures from the movie.
I am still looking for the Tintin film book called Tintin and the Blue Oranges. I had seen a copy in mint condition but it was in French and I tossed it back
Herge also had other books about a boy and girl with a monkey. There was only three albums in that series
Also not forget about those Quick and Flikpe books They are quite rare and hard to find in English text. I never had owned those copies before but read one a long time ago.
There are also two movies produced of Tintin in the 1960s and no mor produced after wards
There are rumored to be a new Tintin movie coming up.
My favourite Tintin books is Cigar of the Pharohs, Destination Moon and Explorer of the Moon and Tintin in Tibet. I even like the Crystal ball and Unicorn series too
