Where do you want to see Nightwing when Dick Grayson hangs up the cowl?

A new Nightwing #1 ongoing? Who would be the ideal creative team?

Should he stay with the Justice League? Go hang with the Titans? Outsiders? Mentor the Teen Titans? Partner with the new Flamebird?

Personally, I would love for him to join the Birds of Prey as the token Rooster in the Hen House. Bring back that Babs/Dick tension, or do you think that 'ship has sailed?

    That's a good question.

DC seems to be hinting that it will have more than one more Batman running around when Bruce returns.

Could be interesting, but eventually Dick would have to move aside. I wouldn't mind seeing him with Birds of Prey.

I'd like to see a story where a DCU newspaper or telecast asks what happened to Nightwing.

While those who interact with Batman know he's a different dude know, I'm assuming the general public doesn't know.

Also, does the general public know that Nightwing was the original Robin?

I was kinda under the impression that the public was aware Nightwing was a grown-up Robin. I think adding Nightwing to the Birds of Prey would quickly grow stale. Ok as a guest now & again, but not a regular. Add him to the JLA as a regular if Bats doesn't re-enlist.

Well, for several years DC insisted that the general populace of the DCU thought Batman and his partners were urban myths, which totally invalidated about every Titans and JLA story ever written!

I'd like to see Dick back in his own book. How about letting Chuck Dixon have another whack at it? Dick was never the same once he left for CrossGen.

Put him back in his own book.....or since Deathstroke appears to be taking over the Titans as leader, have Nightwing join the Outsiders to go up against the Titans

I liked the book best when he was a cop. and i love the tension between him and Babs especially when Huntress is around. I kinda like him with Huntress cause she's wrong for him if that makes sense

how about seeing dick dead? this can be what draws Bruce back to the Cowl. Then have dick come back as the main villian for the next event comic cross over, and then we find out dick was not the one who died but a clone or a dopleganger. and he comes back leads the new titans into battle against the evil one, then decides to become the new Shadow, or a new hero. LOL.

If they killed Dick Grayson I'd stop buying comics.

The idiot that runs DC (Dan Dido?) suggested that years ago and he got such a backlash from fans, he decided against it.

Dick could be in Birds of Prey and his own title.

I'm pretty much out, but that'd be the final nail in the coffin. It's bad enough they "killed" Bruce. I still say going that deep into cosmic sci-fi stuff with the character was a huge mistake.

Oh most definitely...even though Bruce/Batman dabbles in the cosmic on occassion with the JLA and such, it should never become the status quo in his own book. And even though the "death" happened in "Final Crisis", the end result has carried over to the Bat-titles. It's really a dis-service to the character. Supporters of Morrison can claim it's made the dynamics between Dick and Damian more interesting or say that the cosmic aspects were Morrison's homage to the weird sci-fi stuff of the 50s....but there's a reason why the sci-fi stuff stopped to begin with...it wasn't working anymore.

I'd say it didn't work to begin with. It's the one period of Batman lore that is better left alone. Which made it ripe for picking by Morrison. He took the best story of the period "Robin Dies at Dawn" and ran amok with it.

I don't mind Batman going to Apokolips, or throught time with the JLA, but it was kind of an unspoken rule in his own books he stayed more down to Earth. Been that way for 40 years.

I dunno.... I think it's all in the presentation. Don't forget; "Batman: Brave and the Bold" started with a Batman: Space Cop episode.
