    More JSA on Smallville sneaks

KryptonSite: Your Source For "Smallville" News And Information

Kryptonsite has a link to the new trailer from DC's Source Blog, as well as screen caps from said trailer. Even if the story sucks eggs (which I doubt it will with Johns writing it) just the props alone are worth a look-see.

After recently seeing the quality of the episdoes this season, I'm even more psyched for this. Sound like it's digging DEEP into JSA history.

And more good news, both Martha Kent AND Perry White return! Sounds like they are really trying to give this show a serious shot in the arm.

Superhero hype has a trailer and poster and less pop ups.

Smallville: Absolute Justice Promo and Poster - Superhero Hype!

Clark sticks out like a sore thumb in his matrix outfit. Welling is in his 30s. His Superboy days are long past. The producers really need to let go of their ego and no flights no tights rhetoric and just put him in the bloody suit already and let him be Superman. It's a show about Superman but he is the only one not in costume.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I agree, but I think their hands are tied by Warners film division. Welling may still be hesitant to don the suit (which I've never heard that confirmed) but the new producers seem more willing to dig deeper into the comics, hence the JSA.

This is the kind of storytellin' they should have been doing all along instead of the Kryptonite foe of the week early on....

That worked for about 2 years and then got boring, then too much Lex vs. clark when it should have been Lex vs. Superman.

now it's time for the suit and flight when you have all these others in costume and clark isn't it demeans the character.

New episodes were supposed to start tonight, Jan. 22, but the Haiti relief telethon shifted the schedule. Now they start next week with "Disciple" that introduces "The Dark ARcher" (based on DC villain/assassin Merlyn) and then Feb. 5 is the "Absolute Justice" movie. It was originally meant to air as two episodes, but apparently CW liked it enough to make it a full blown event. The next episode after the JSA was supposed to air first, it's the one with the return of Zatanna, and Lois dressed as pseudo-Wonder Woman.

I liked it! The JSA Museum was a total geek-fest! Geoff Johns really had a lot of good story bits in there....tough to do with all of history and characters involved in the JSA but he still managed to present it well.

I wish they had at least one more JSA member showcased...Hawkman and Dr. Fate were awesome but I found Star Girl a little bland. Dr. Fate was my total favorite....loved the helmet whispering to Kent Nelson. I found Hawkman's voice to be a poor "Christian Bale as Batman" imitation....even when he wasn't Hawkman he sounded like that.

I wasn't too impressed with the Icicle dude or Amanda Waller...Did like the Suicide Squad line at the end though. So let me get this straight....she had Star Spangled Kid, Sandman and Dr. Fate killed just to get the team back together? Weird way to go about getting the job done....

I thought it was OK...and I love the JSA/All Star Squadron etc. I thought Shanks wasn't very good as Hawkman...over did it on the Eastwood like acting. I thought the Dr Fate stuff was done really well...the suit and the eyes were great. I'd love to see the JSA show up again....as for it being a "2 Hour Event"...not so much an event in my opinion. It was good...not great...but good.

For some reason, I laughed out loud when Lois said, "Nice helmet," and Dr. Fate said, "Thank you." I have to say, I had pretty low expectations, but was still excited to see this show. I got a kick out of seeing Ma Hunkel wearing her apron with the Red Tornado symbol on it, and Martian Manhunter's fondness for cookies.
