New Avengers Finale. Get ready for a slew of new #1s

Siege Ends the Avengers - Comics feature - at IGN
For many months the end of Dark Reign and arrival of Siege has sparked speculation about the future of the Avengers franchise. Marvel writers and editors have long claimed that Siege would once again set a new direction for many of their titles, but fans really didn't know how extensive that change would be.

Today IGN is able to exclusively reveal some of the major changes coming as a result of Siege's conclusion. Marvel has targeted all of its Avengers titles - New Avengers, Dark Avengers, Mighty Avengers and Avengers: The Initiative - for cancellation.
Given the fact that the Avengers franchise is among their top sellers now, I'm not sure cancellation is the right word here. I'm thinking we're just going to get a bunch of new #1's (just like over in The Ultimates) with the word "Avengers" in the titles.

    Any speculations?

Well, I can see the Dark Avengers continuing in some format, maybe tied in with Thunderbolts, but they probably will be dropping the Avengers moniker. Shame though because this has been the most interesting "Avengers" book in quite a while.

New Avengers is just getting old....a lot of these 2nd stringers (Luke Cage) or guys who don't belong on the team (Spidey and Wolverine) need to go...as does Bendis. Time to give the franchise some new blood all the way around.

Mighty Avengers I haven't gotten into for a long time now....got burned out during Secret Invasion. And as for the Initiative, I can see this one going bye-bye permanently.

He's been on 10 issues of the 12 Dark Avengers book ...,
          so far ..
And really was the Only reason , I was personally buying.
I did really like the Morgan Le Fey and MoleculeMan stories..., But would have never been there, without him.

Not likely, since he's getting a mini following Siege called "New Avengers: Luke Cage"

Keep in mind he was doing a year's worth of Warren Ellis' Thunderbolts before those characters morphed into the Dark Avengers.

Two years of drawing Tommy Lee Jones and company is a pretty long run in the industry these days! Even more with Norman since he started drawing him prior to that on a two year run with JMS's Spiderman (but that is better left forgotten, despite the nice art).

I prefer that he does put in the time to draw one book a month than going back to the nineties when eight books by "Mike Deodato" were coming out from four different companies every month.

Is there a complete list of his work out there ?
To be honest, I have only recently discovered him ... , I found him on a Hulk/Ironman book ..., and then was hooked ever since.

NO MORE FREAKING NUMBER ONE'S!! ENOUGH WITH THIS RENUMBERING CRAP! They restart books and in a yr or 2 they tell us due to popular demand those 12 or 24 books will be counted as regular numbering and the mext issue will be number 2XX in the series.
This is sloopy and causes us to have collections like 1-300, 1-24, 324-375,1-?

BLKKNIGHT: if you like Mike Deodato, you must do yourself a fav and read his Wonder Woman run. its now on TPB its called The Contest its a 2 parter TPB and has what I believe to be his best work.

Most of his nineties stuff is pretty forgettable since he was churning out so much of it in the "Mike Deodato Factory". He adapted one of the better Image-Inspired styles since he could actually draw (his earliest stuff i've seen looks like 70's Black and White Sci Fi magazines), but he had so many ghosts both credited and uncredited working for him in his studio.

I can recommend the Thor World Engine Trade paperback with his Thunderbolts collaborator Warren Ellis.

Then William Messner Loeb (who was doing Wonder Woman with Deodato) takes over the scripting, and that run is collected in the Mike Deodato Thor Visionaries Trade.

^^ Did Leifeld design that mess of a costume?? leg straps, shoulder pads, and a belly shirt. And look, not a foot in sight.

I could see that, 'specially since there's a bazillion dollar movie in the works. They probably want to realign the comics with the movie.

I think for one thing they will probably restore the legacy numbering to whatever Avengers title comes out of the pipeline....they've done this with Spidey, Hulk, FF,Thor, even X-Factor (!) so Avengers should be getting the treatment as well...

Mike Deodato's run on Wonder Woman was excellent....Appearances by Poison Ivy and Cheshire didn't hurt either...
