I thought it was pretty good. maybe not as faithful to the origin story as it should have have been but what the hell, the comics are constantly playing with origin stories too

I loved this. It was a little odd with the whole giant floating yellow and green batteries but it was fun to watch with my daughter.

It was okay. Didn't like the changes made to Abin Sur,Kanjar Ro and so on. Was surprised it aired on CN with all of the deaths in it.

As a GL fan, I thought it was pretty good. The changes to Kanjar Ro & Abin Sur were odd and unnecessary, but on a whole I liked it.

The only part that sucked was Cartoon Network's intrusive commercial breaks for their other series (all of which look bad to me). Does nobody even try to run a commercial on a natural break in the show? They cutout in the middle of the action, run a Ben-10 ad, come back. Really annoying! BBC America does the same thing during their shows, cut to run an ad for Graham Norton then back. And for their house-ads yet. If you were at least trying to actually sell a Snuggie, Jazzy, or Slap-Chop I could understand the revenue factor. But a break for the same promo over & over is dumb. Thank God for DVR and the flash forward button! I almost never watch anything "live" anymore!

Was not that impressed. I was amazed how many deaths were depected. Had to do alot of explaining of the plotliine to my daughter.

I liked it. I'd rank it as equal with the Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.

Just for fun, here's how I'd rank the DC dirct to DVDs so far:

                      1. New Frontier
                      2. GL/Public Enemies (tie)
                      3. Wonder Woman
                      4. Superman: Doomsday
                      6. Batman: Gotham Knight

That's just my two cents. I like all of them, but GK the least. Anime just isn't my cup of tea, and the changing art styles is just distracting.

Nathan Fillion does the voice of GL. He played Captain Rynolds on Firefly.

Actually Fillion was the voice of Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman DTV movie. GL/Hal was voice by Christopher Meloni (of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit) in the First Flight DTV movie.

I was concerned about this as well.. As with the FF movies and other later day 'revisionistic' trends, I was hoping for more 'vintage' action faithful to the original stories.

All in all, it held up for repeat viewings, even had it on my iPod for a while until I flew over to Kuwait here and had brought the DVD with me anyways.
