I always loved Ron Embleton's lavish illustrations on Wanda, but I thought the parody in Annie Fanny was always more dead on target and funny.

Wicked Wanda was Penthouse's answer to Annie Fanny in the seventies. Where Annie Fanny was a saucy version of Little Orphan Annie, Wanda and her sidekick were kind of aristocratic contemporary precursors to Xena and Gabrielle. There was a sharper political bent to the satire in Wanda, whereas Annie Fanny tended to often take on social trends.

Wicked Wanda.. I often pictured taking her home to meet my parents.

She was much more the intellectual. I could relate to that....
