Picked up a copy of the Animated WW DVD

I was at a Blockbuster that is closing and picked this up before Xmas. Since it is PG-13 I wanted to see it at a time that my 6 year old wouldn't see it and want to watch Wonder Woman with me.

So anyway, I was really looking forward to seeing it and was underwhelmed. I liked the story idea, but felt that they should have reduced some of the battle scenes and had more of the real world discovering Wonder Woman and visa versa. I'm not a big blood and gore fan, even animated.

They gave an origin for everything except they never explained the invisible jet in the context of this story. If they have been shut off from the outside world why have this all of a sudden?
    It's all good!

This is the way Steve should be in the comics. Great voice casting as well.

I kind of wish they used the reboot/Infinite Crisis/One Year Later to bring back Steve in a more classic form. Although I guess Nemesis is supposed to fill that role in everything but name.

I've been underwhelmed with most of the DC stuff. New Frontier was the best and most faithful to the source material so far. The GL one was ok, but it seemed to rushed.

I thought it was a pretty good film and certainly enjoyed watching it. I'm just not sure it was on the same level with some of the other DC universe material that's been put out.

I thought that Wonder Woman DVD was pretty cool. I didn't care for how Ares was "wussifed" but the storyline was pretty good and I loved the animation style.
I would love to see a Wonder Woman cartoon showing her mother and explaining the new Golden Age retcon story with the JSA. That would make a fun animated movie and give the public and idea what is going on. Providing they have not changed that back.

I think I enjoyed Wonder Woman as a character in this cartoon more than any of the comics I've read about her. And without a doubt the story is better than any on the old TV series, although few things match watching Linda Carter in her satin tights.
