I used to just collect the entire story of something..., or sit down and read 6to8 or so issues of something all at once, and wait until I had everything. But this last yr..., with really getting into some of the Books I read, I read them as soon as I can get my hands on them... I wish I woulda just waited for Flash Rebirth to all come out.., before I started reading it... , The last few issues have been so Damn Delayed, Months, and Months, and Months..., Ultimately whenever the last issue shows up..., I gotta go back and read them all, to take in the whole story again, to see if I really even liked the completion of it.

I haven't scene something delayed this Bad since All Star Batman and Robin..., but to be Honest,.. after Hal showed up in that book,.. I never really collected or read them after that.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

This year Ambush Bug #7 (previously #6) was delayed almost one year...missed it by a month.

And you should have been around for Camelot 3000....talk about delays.....

i think the record for delay has gotta be Hulk/Wolverine or the Kevin smith Black Cat/Spidey series

Kyle Baker's Shadow had a lot of delay issues, too.

            Kevin Smith's Daredevil/Bullseye mini-series even beats those....never got past issue #1.....

So, seven years to tell a story that could hve been done in 6 months to a year.

But to my knowledge, Van Sciver never has, even when DC schedules his work well ahead of its publication date.
Van Sciver hit a monthly schedule back when he was on Impulse if I'm recalling correctly, but his work has become much more detailed as it's evolved. Keep in mind one of his big influences is Brian Bolland and we know Bolland's history with deadlines! It's always been worth the wait for both artists in my opinion.

I don't really think it was Van Sciver's fault on New X-Men. They were already way behind the ball with Frank Quitely to begin with.

It's lucky that Van Sciver wasn't on board for Blackest Night as he was originally supposed to, otherwise that one would be really behind as well.

I'm still waiting on Tim Vigil and David Quinn's Faust. 13 issues since 1988, with years between issues. Although to be fair, there was a period a decade back where they did complete a half dozen related one-shots and miniseries for Avatar.

Miracleman slowed down to a crawl when John Totleben came on board. He was experiencing health problems, but it was worth the wait given how big that finale was.

Do folks remember the wait between issues of The Dark Knight and Watchmen?

I think there was a year before the final issue of Camelot 3000 came out.

Still not understanding how Marvel has the patience to wait out Bryan Hitch for 24 issues of The Ultimates, but pulls him with one issue of Fantastic Four left to go. Was it that important to get him on Captain America Rebirth?

I don't think the Twelve from Marvel ever finished.

                        Hmmmm....

Back in the day, it was assumed that the "life" of a superhero fan was 3 years; after that they'd move on to other hobbies. This story would have outlived two "generations" of comic fans.

Dunno why; but that seems pertinent for some reason....

Last I knew it was at issue #8....with JMS doing more work for DC than Marvel these days, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Really? Glad I decided to wait for the collected edition before starting.

And they have just solicited a new Twelve miniseries written and drawn by Chris Weston!
