        Anyone like Astroboy?

Just read the first volume recently and was completely hooked even though "Atom" doesn't even show up until the final few panels.

And who doesn't like SHOGUN WARRIORS!

        or Micronauts!

All right then, let's go back to BATMAN!

If comics that make no sense bother you then skip Animal Man. It gets pretty weird at times.
Perhaps not as weird as the concurrent Doom Patrol series but still very odd nonetheless.
A lot of head-scratching will follow.

Watchmen I remember being pretty good but to be totally honest I bought it new and read it once and it's been in my box ever since.
I have been meaning to dig it out and re-read it someday.

And yet Morrison's writing on these 2 titles made more sense than anything he's done in the DCU recently.

Don C. has Nelvana of the Northern Lights on his list (one of the few on the list I'd heard of ), it's also one I'd like to look into. When I was researching non-USA comic books, I found the site Guardians of the North and Nelvana. Outside of a cameo in Alpha Flight (as Snowbird's mother), I haven't been able to track any of the Nelvana material down yet. I'd also like to check-out the original Mr Monster stuff.

I think my copy of The Great Canadian Comic Books is in storage somewhere.

It's got some Nelvana of the Northern Lights details in it.

I'll have to track down a copy of that! I got some info from Canuck Comics.

and found a few Golden Age Canadian Comics online but still no Nelvana (even though she's pictured).

I've always been told James Robinson's Starman was excellent. I'd have no clue what's going on since I have zero familiarity with the character and would probebly need at least some remedial information to begin reading it.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

No you don't....Robinson's Starman is very easy to get in to....if you're not familiar with the lineage of all the Starmen who went before, don't worry....Robinson builds that up as he goes along. Plus, you're introduced to Jack Knight just as he's reluctantly forced into becoming the new Starman, so your learning curve is the same as his. It's a pretty well crafted series. Grab yourself the Starman Omnibus (collects issues 0-17) and you won't be disappointed. RECOMMENDED READING!

Starman was pretty good but I dropped it somewhere around the Shazam crossover issues.

                                >Anything else at onemanga that you recommend?

FrankenFran, Billy Bat, Giant Robo, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. UruseiYatsura is an old fave.

                                >I haven't been able to track any of the Nelvana material down yet.

It's one of them things that gets mentioned a whole lot but never gets reprinted. (There was a freakin' STAMP issued by the Post Office no less!)

                                >If it ain't American super-heroics, I ain't interested.

I always think it's a shame when folks say stuff like this. There's SO MUCH out there you're missing. I consider myself lucky to have been exposed to so many different series and styles as a kid, since it didn't limit me to any one genre as I got older.

                                >There is no escaping Batman, even when you travel all the way to the other side of the planet, he's still there.

                                ....like Hep-B....
