Thanks for the crash course Samurainoir!
I'm actually going to download a bunch of FF issues now (don't tell anyone.) I'm curious to see what Clarmont did with it - but if I like it maybe I'll pick it up again.
I thought the Civil War thing got rebooted - didn't Mary Jane make a pact with Mephisto and return things to normal or something crazy like that?
I totally agree with you, I got into DC during the 90s and almost ignored Marvel - which is how I got so far off track.Comment

I actually got back on board FF with Mark Waid's run where he did some interesting stuff with Doom in regards to his past in Sorcery, which I don't think many have fully explored enough. I'd recommend Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch's most recent run which can be read as a self contained 12 issues and then go into Jonathan Hickman's excellent Reed Richards centric arc. Valeria and Franklin are shaping up as really interesting characters in the past 16 issues.
The one issue in JMS' run that you should read would be where the Thing decides to skip out on The Civil War and move to France.Comment

>Quicksilver and Crystal's kid seems to have caught up to Franklin as well.
I think part of that is 'cos there's a limited number of age groups in most comics: you're an infant, toddler, teenager, adult, or old. The in-betweens are tough to draw.
And holee smokes! When did Betty Cooper become Doctor Doom?!?!?!

Franklin has five candles on his Cake...
Yet Alex Power is now 19?!
If we go by their ages circa Power Pack in the eighties when Alex was 12, Franklin should be celebrating his 11th or 12th birthday.
It's like the Mad Magazine Gasoline Alley Parody!
