Oh yeah. I was playing D&D at the time, and enjoyed watching the show. Of course it wasn't much like real D&D, but it was still fun for a kid. I remember being frustrated that the show would disappear for weeks and months at a time before suddenly showing up again for a new episode here and there.
Someday I'll get around to renting the dvd set, which I'm sure will be highly cringe-inducing..

They have this at Target right now for cheap along with the Filmation Flash Gordon series. I loved this when I was a kid. Plus Donny Most of Ralph Malph fame did some voicework.sigpic "It's like you're unravelling a big cable-knit sweater that someone keeps knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting..."Comment

I remember this the biggest thing to bug me about it was the little kid was the barbarian.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

Hmmmm....
I had been playing the game for a few years before this came out; and it was the first time I realized the tendency for popular names to get slapped onto the same old same old. Drove me NUTS how much it DIDN'T match the game. (So.... a flower in the face defeats a Beholder? Only two people have weapons? The wizard doesn't memorize spells? And what alignment is the Cavalier; Chaotic Stupid?!?!)
....right now my 10 year old self is screaming in pain....

Oh Guys, this cartoon was brilliant, I bought the box set a good couple of years ago, totally enjoyed it, unfortunately there was never an ending episode, when they all get home. There was one written but never got made, but apparently the main bad guy turned out to be dungeon masters son!!!. Theres also a fan made last episode as well.Comment

Apparently the series was released as a boxed set a few yrs ago with lots of extras.. the company that produced and/or distributed it subsequently went out of business, and now that original set is defunct (tho likely can still be obtained here and there on the web). What folks are seeing now in stores for cheap (and less than $10 on amazon and walmart.com) is a bare-bones set produced by another company that contains the entire series in minimal packaging and no extras.
Better than nothing for those that still want the series.Comment

I loved it as a kid but having watched a bit here and there on some cable channel it is hard to watch. The main characters were annoying. Would have been so much better if they used the characters they were making toys of at the time...Stronheart, Warduke etc....i think some of them did make an appearance here and there but only as supporting charactersComment

>unfortunately there was never an ending episode, when they all get home.
....or all get eaten by an anhkeg....
>I loved this show which was weird because I loathed the game.
Not really; since the show wasn't anything like the game.

I LOOOOOVED this show as a kid, I'd be about 9 when it started.
I too contemplated buying the boxset when it came out, but then I found a 5 episode dvd in the Walmart cheapee bin for $5.
I don't think I've made it past the 3 episode and I've had it for a year.Comment
