    War of the Supermen

    DC's big thing next year:

Topless Robot - Superman at War, Wonder Woman Renumbered, Batman Still Dead

Kinda reminds me of Allan Moore's "House of" concept he floated years ago.

Its only the Big thing in the Supeman books. The big XOvers next year are JLA-centric and Morrison's multiple earths thing.

I think it's funny that comic companies can make a deal out of relaunches with new #1s, and now they can make even bigger deals of ignoring those relaunches and going back to the old numbering. It's a hard example of the see-sawing continuity-wiping mindset that super hero comics are plagued by nowadays.

I haven't heard one good word on all this World of Supermen/Krypton jazz. So DC is making a big event out of it still? Why not just quietly end it and try again?

I'm all for the Wonder Woman renumbering...If Batman, Detective, Superman and Action can all have/or reverted to their original numbering, why not the Amazing Amazon? IMO her book needs all of the attention it can get because nothing seems to be working. I had high hopes for Gail Simone scripting but it quickly grew very tiresome and I dropped the title. The last time I really enjoyed WW in her own book was during the runs by John Byrne, Phil Jimenez and Michael Deodato. Rucka's run did nothing for me either...

I think it sucks...Of course, the tie-ins to this storyline were crappy also. The only good one in the bunch was Supergirl's book. I have however dropped all of the Superman titles until they finish this mess and just go back to the ol' Truth, Justice and the AMERICAN Way.

I miss Johns and Frank on Action but they left to persue Superman:Secret Origin....which is fantastic, but it's only a mini-series. I don't think they'll be headed back to Supes to finish what they started, especially in light of the recently announced Batman: Earth One project.

Ya know....Blackest Night being the exception....but I'm really getting tired of these yearly BIG EVENTS that put a strain on the wallet AND my patience. Instead of being an in-and-out 5 or 6 issue mini or arc in the main book, everything has to be 12 issues or more it seems with other spin-off books and tie-ins to bump up sales on staggering titles.

Ignore the tie ins. I did it for Final Crisis except for Superman Forever and I did just fine following the story.

Oh, HELL yeah! Which is an example of putting your focus on the marketing of the book over.... you know.... the CONTENT!

I agree, but it shouldn't have been renumbered in the first place. I know Crisis rebooted Wonder Woman whole, but they could have pulled the trick they did when Schwartz took over Superman in the 70s with something like "Number 1 Comic Heroine" on the cover in a big blurb or something.

^ I think we may have to blame John Byrne for that in a roundabout way....when he rebooted Superman I thought one of his stipulations at the time was he wanted it to start with a new number one. But to keep the old Superman numbering they retitled the original series "Adventures of Superman" and gave Byrne a new book. Everything just snowballed from there...

Meh...another "big event". Haven't been interested in the Superman books at all (with the exception of the little LSH reboot a year or so ago). Tried the Robinson stuff because I was excited to see the Kirby Atlas come back, but it did nothing for me. I've tried a couple times after, but nada.
