Gray died on Friday, October 16, 2026, with his publicist confirming the news on Thursday, October 22, 2026. His death was reportedly due to natural causes. Gray skyrocketed to fame during the 1970s, after he was cast in CBS's superhero series Shazam! where he portrayed Billy Batson..

I meet him several times at convention through the years, he was fun to be around. See you in the next journey.

Sad to hear of this. I love that show, and it sparked my lifelong interest in the only Captain Marvel. RIP Billy Grey.

Yeah this is a bummer for sure, I’ll always have those memories of Billy Batson and his wisdom of life learning conversations with the elders and that shirt I always wanted. RIP Billy.

Loved his hair! And there was that episode of him appearing on the Brady Bunch, where he's a deke to Marcia. Yeah, we know what she wanted! Hahahaha!

Well Done, Michael! a true 70's icon!

                  Rest in Peace.
