Cyborg's probably got a few spare robot arms lying around the Titans Tower he could give Roy. He might even have one that can shoot arrows.

With Barry back and a new Kid Flash, Wally is expendable.

Anyone Else who actually read the Book,.. think that Hawkman's Overly Nice character was alittle away from his Character ..., even more so with Ollie present ? ... Maybe that mean Mug Shot at Roy was really something More ..

They've explored the crippled speedster a few times that I can think of and it's generally been an interesting read.

Yeah, and I seem to recall an annual too.

The difference is now, they'd actually do it in continuity, to hell with creators down the line who may want to use these characters without all the drama and trauma. There used to be an unspoken rule amongst most comic writers that they understood they were just temporary caretakers of these characters, and they handed them back when they were done, relatively unchanged. The art of weaving the illusion of change is long gone in comics it seems.

I was surprised Robinson would do this to such an old character, but then I recalled how he slaughtered Justice League Europe in that one issue of Starman. I love that series, but I felt that was a bit much for him to do to a bunch of guest stars.

Where are the editors at these comic companies nowadays? Editors used to be stewards of the characters and veto any stories that would damage the characters down the line.

                      Sorry, old fogey rant over.

Don't be sorry...I agree with you 100%. The lack of "protection" or "ownership" by the editors these days toward the characters they're supposed to be in charge of often disheartening.

Everything is designed for the instant shock value and the bump in sales....who cares if it fails and we're left with a lame character as a result? That's why we have characters like Hawkman and Aquaman over at DC who now have "backstories" that are a mess.....simply because writers constantly seem to be pushing new and radical changes and the editors are allowing it.

Everything is constantly negating what came before...so you're then left with a continuity mess like the aforementioned Hawkman and Aquaman who no one wants to touch (deeming them "radioactive") because they apparently can't carry a title. Until some young genius has another break-thru idea and they relaunch with a new #1 (sales again)...only to have the series ultimately fail and the cycle begins anew.

                        Cranky ol' bastich rant over.....

Actually, I'm not surprised....yeah I too was thrown a curve when he did it to JLE back on Starman....but it sort of fits his M.O. today. IMO the guy's talent has suffered considerably since his return to DC after a lengthy sabbatical. His Superman books have been unreadable since Day 1 IMO.

I was intrigued by Cry for Justice and was pleasantly surprised that he still had the ear for dialogue and the ability to tap in to the vast continuity of the DCU that I always knew him to have. However, his plotting and general direction of the story

I find myself questioning and can say I'm not really looking forward to his takeover of the Justice League of America book proper. I have already cut the book from my monthly list (should have canned it after the 1st Meltzer issue but I was waaayy too generous for far tooooo long with that series)....not sure if I want ot re-add it only to continue to be disappointed by Robinson.

I find it a bit sad that someone that has written something that's pretty much universally professed as iconic and classic (Starman AND his Golden Age mini-series) seems to have lost his touch but continues to be given high-high profile titles and characters to work on.

The lineup of the JLa when Robinson takes over is very weak, hopefully they are placeholders till the rest of the big guns are available.

Maybe they're doing another DC/Marvel cross over fight thingie again and this time they've paired off Roy with Logan. Well, this is a pretty good outcome of what would happen.

Or maybe Hawkman had enough of Roy hitting on his gal. Well, Kendra doesn't think she's Hawkmans gal but Hawkman believes in this destiny thing...-sigh-

Roy just had to mouth of to Hawkman.
