Fun movie for 2.5 hrs
For as many villains as they listed, it still worked out once you see the movie.

There is a post-credit scene after all the credits roll so hurry up and go to the bathroom when they start.

Great film and great story. They really served all the main characters well, I thought. Plenty of fun surprises, but a compelling story and well told. Felt like the previous 3 Holland films matured and grew up.

Wont give out any of the plot. Another win for Sony and Marvel.

Got busy on Friday and forgot to post. We went last Thursday night. What an awesome film! Impossible not to like. We all had a great time!

Got to finally see it. Yeah, it was an awesome movie. It really gave me that feeling of the Marvel Universe I was reading in the comics with characters from different books showing up and interacting. Also love the small subtle nods to past spiderman films....funny enough, the '77 tv movie starts off with mind controlled regular people in runaway vehicles too. Just saying lol. I highly doubt filmmakers even know of it's existence let alone want to homage it. Overall, I'd probably rate it up there with No Way Home and Spiderman 2.
Also, i spotted the old spiderman ski mask near the end of the movie. I wanted that thing in the worst way as a kid but never got it.

X-Men: Children of the Atom was a 1999 Mini series by writer: Joe Casey & Artist: Steve Rude. It was there where ANYONE first heard/read of Bill Metzger. BUT! More of that later on below

Finally saw it after three missed opportunities and I agree with Chris, yes, the cast have Matured and grown up (except NED). Other then that...


For all the reviews and comments everywhere, I myself can tell ya, no this is NOT the best Spidey-man movie yet/ever. Lots of HYPE! HYPE! I wonder if they ever will make one????


The story was spot on and it did it's job on telling the destiny (if you will, I don't think the word: FATE; would fit in this telling of) Peter Parker's current pathway in life.

but was it the end all be all. No. Scorpion and Ramrod were nice touches, but the whole VILLIFICATION of J___ G___, was complete Horse-****. Seriously, why would you do that? Is M_____ gonna eventually recruit her for his hood? yeah, yeah, I get it its NOT the comics, but still can't these writers get their **** right and the idea of using the Punisher and the Hulk together , on paper it looks good, but I will say Frank Castle did good, they nailed the character and honesty, they UNDER USED Bruce Banner. Here I thought they were have ALL Three of them in unison fighting together, but no, they took Bruce and made him a TOOL. You would have thought that AFTER the last Captain America film with the RULK, they would have capitalized on Banner, but no.

I honestly thought that Mephisto was the villian, but no, I honestly thought they were gonna RIFF on OMIT (One Moment In Time) and what did they base this all on? Well let's look AT the THANK YOU List.

Yelana was eehh. Did she add to the story, a little bit, but the kid could have figured all this out himself, after so many years of being Spidey.​ And I did NOT appreciate Yelana's tone as if the new, nope; the NU-Avengers are the saviors of the universe. They suck. And as I have expressed before, as we see her in her "Office" I still say, some one in casting had been watching many videos from EVIL ANGEL as they were casting the character of Yelana. And on that note where were the rest of the NUVengers? When NYC was being zapped??

And Where was J. Jonah Jameson? How do you explain that? And NO, I am NOT gonna except "Scheduling conflicts" as an Bleedin' excuse! If this IS supposed to be the "BEST" Spidey film yet/ever how could you not include someone who is a very important PART of the whole mythology of the Spider-verse?????? Even a CGI insert would have given this film more merit.

The shots of New York were as always breathtaking and I kept looking for CAR 54, but I don't see it, not even Toody & Muldoon could have aided this flick



And now Bill Metzger...


the co-creator of William Metzger is writer Joe Casey and he had plenty to say about all this, but I am gonna show ya a few of his comments. You can read his whole deposition on the link below.

"...along with renowned artist, Steve Rude, I actually created the character of William Metzger for our 1999 mini-series, X-Men: Children of the Atom (which, ironically, was a new take on the origin of the X-Men, which is now supposedly on deck in the films). Metzger was the leader of an organization with a very on-the-nose name, the Anti-Mutant Militia, and by the end of our series, had met his grisly demise at the hands of Magneto."

"Now, from what I've heard, the "William Metzger" that appears in the film this summer is the head of the Department of Damage Control who secretly (or not so secretly) harbors intense anti-mutant sentiment. Apparently, Tramell Tillman has been signed for a multi-picture deal with Marvel, so presumably this character will carry through into their upcoming X-Men films. Tillman is certainly a skilled actor and I have no reason to believe he won't absolutely kill in the role."

"one of the more curious aspects of this entire thing is that the character — as originally depicted in X-Men: COTA — was white, intentionally modeled (and obviously named) after real life white supremacist racist scumbag, Tom Metzger (in basic concept, if not appearance… I'm not sure if Steve Rude really knew from Tom Metzger). The move to cast a black actor in the role was an… interesting choice on Marvel Studios' part. So I'm not convinced that anyone there was fully aware of the character's inspiration. But if it serves as a cool "f**k you" to other racist ****heads out there (who perhaps idolized Tom Metzger, God knows why), even better."

And he goes on for the most part expressing disappointment over being Disrespected and not being compensated for Metzger and America Chavez (in Dr. Strange 2022) and Kathleen Sparr (Hulk 2008) as well as he should along with the respective artist's who worked with him on these creations. NOT even a PHONE CALL to let him know they are being used. And I don't even like Joe Casey. We met at Comic con in 2003/2004? and it did not end well, don't ask!

That is the curse of "Work for hire" you create it and the company OWNS it. (The stories that Len Strazewski told me over Jesse Quick as DC screwed him over by making her "Liberty Belle" but still retaining her speed-mantra powers.)

You know, I do HOPE to god, that the idiots at DITZNey know that Metzger was originally Caucasian and that they didn't just decide to cast a black actor with out knowing.

And I am surprised no one has spoken up about NED turning into the HOBGOBLIN!?!?!?!?!

and the film is over. As I sit there waiting for the masses to leave I hear parts of the crowd getting orgasmic over the film and parts trying just to get out and parts wondering what they are gonna do next for the day and I sit there sad as I KNOW this is NOT gonna increase comic book sales at the shops and this film was just a summer time Detour and it does really sadden me.


God help me get through Doomsday.
