What order should I read Civil War?

I haven't read new comics since about 2000.

I picked up the trades from the library for Civil War. Should I read a fourth of each trade and then start on the second issue per trade or read straight through each four issue trade paperback? which order should i read the titles?

are there opening and closing series like age of apocalypse had with x-men alpha and x-men omega?

I wasn't a fan of civil war really, it had some good parts but not enough for me...not sure what order if any to read them though

The I don't think it will really matter; however, Spidey, Cap and Iron Man were the series that tied the most closely to the Civil War title along with the Avengers to the best of my recollection.

I'd just stick with Civil War #1-7 and maybe Avengers if you want to read a cross-over....

And be prepared that Civil War leads directly into Secret Invasion....so it's not like there's a clear cut definitive end.....

true, but they do take some breasthers between universe shattering events..
Civil War/World War hulk/Secret invasion/Dark Reign all pretty much a continuation

With DC there was a couple months inbetween Crisis and Blackest Night

I got suckered into the whole comic reading thing again because of this storyline, and found that the Spidey arc is the best part from start to finish. It is a fantastic read from start to finish, with all the crossovers. The Civil War frontline books were my favorite. While the rest were great too (X-men was a close second) the general ending of the whole affair left such a bad taste in my mouth that I was able to walk away from books again. I will stick with the TPB's and Cap, but that's it.

i read Civil War 1-7. It is not very good. It really makes no sense either. Cap would not react this way.

What is the line on being allowed to save someone? If I see a kid in a burning building and am wearing a superhero shirt I can't help? if i take off the shirt i can? issteve roges allowed to save someone while not in costume? if not, is anybody aloud to help anyone? the whole premise is just dumb. most of the writing is bad. the secondary characters are ridiculous - like Hill.

they make reference to genosha and mutant registration (a good story line because it dealt with real world prejudices and fear) and they try to equate this to that but it is just absurd.

If you wanted to hide your identity - why would you create a new you before just saying Ok I won't be Falcon (or whoever anymore) and donning a different costume.

am i supposed to care about the mom of the kid that died? a law suit happy nut job - it is people like her that cause us to have our toy boxing glove arrows fused to our green arrow bows

b/c i had them i purused soem of the others. there is nothing there.
