I'm an easy mark for these films, and I have to one degree or another found them all enjoyable. But I will admit, overall the magic has been missing since Endgame. My daughter and I actually watched all of Spider-Man's scenes in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers Infinite War and Avengers: Endgame last night, as we're planning on re-watching the Holland Spidey movies leading up to us seeing Brand New Day. Rewatching just parts of those films made me wonder if they can ever recapture that excitment, that spark. This trailer did seem to evoke some of that. Either way, I'm definitely in for seeing it!
BF & I will be attending the first showing. Still not sure about it but the chance to see X-Men in the comic book outfits is something I have been watching for.
I'm sure I will see Doomsday at some point, but I agree that they have lost the spark.
The early movies really succeeded because they were, first and foremost, character-driven. People love the first Iron Man, but nobody loves it because of RDJ's fight with Jeff Bridges (or anything else plot related). It is because they connected with the character of Tony Stark.
I feel like the recent movies are lots of action, lots of plot, lots of servicing of the "cinematic universe"... and the characters are almost an afterthought.
Yeah, the magic is gone for me aparently. I guess I don't really find FF,Shang-Chi, Thunderbolts, Sam as Cap interacting all that exciting. Each of those have had one movie that were pretty forgettable imo. And I actually never did see Black Panther 2 either. I guess these first time interactions dont seem as monumental to me as they did in Infinity War.
X-Men involvement could be a little more interesting. Is Jackman supposed to be coming back?
Have there been any memes of "Somehow Steve Rogers returned" yet? Lol
For all my complaining, I'll most likely be seeing it opening weekend.
I feel like Thunderbolts and FF were definitely back in the right direction for Marvel. The FF film captured that Lee/Kirby magic pretty well, better than I expected. I just wish they'd made that movie about 10 years ago so we'd had them involved in the best era of the MCU.
I like the preview and have not seen most of the Marvel movies but really liked Thor saying "we need a miracle " and than Cap shows up to save the day. I read and collected Avengers as a kid and Capt America seemed to always lead them to victory. (It's why I hated Millar's Civil War)
Dr. Doom has his own Time Machine so this might have something to do with Stark . I have picked up That Doom is getting the X-men to fight the Avengers. This does seem like DC crisis on infinite Earths because there are 3 Earths and FF is from one , Avengers are from the second, and X-men are from a Days of Future past Earth were the Sentinals destroyed everything. Kang was the original baddy but got dumped when Disney fired the actor
Very, very interesting that the ETERNALS were not shown (or at least in the trailer). Considering that Franklin is destined to be a "Celestial"; it would behoove Marvel to also include them or some of them, since this is an OMEGA level event.
I just watched the trailer, and it was, for me...... ok. Just like Luke Skywalker appearing at the end of "The Force Awakens," I was a total mark for the appearance of bearded Chris Evans. But the rest of the trailer seemed like everything in the backgrounds was really dark and 'AI fake.'
Agreed that the trailer is way too dark, a strange trend in modern movies. Dark is not atmospheric. It’s just hard to see. Dark with light contrasts is atmospheric.
Great teasers in the trailers. Looking forward to seeing the movie. I see all the Marvel movies even the bad ones just to keep aware on the storylines just like I use to pick up almost all the comic book titles to keep up with the Marvel Comics storylines.
We all know they need to reboot the Marvel line up of actors and hope the story line will be exciting while doing so. Some X-Men involvement is about time.
That being said, looking more to the Spider-Man movie after the bad Disney movies in the past 4 years.
I read that Disney was getting rid of the Eternals so I am not sure what Earth there onand if they are used . The previews shows dark spaces between Marvel heroes when they group up at the mansion ,and this is were other CGI heroes will be added for a larger team -up. I don't follow Star Wars but
somebody reviewing this compared to Star Wars trailers were others charectors are added in for final trailer with CGI in blank spots
