    Batman 6-23-89

Batman is a 1989 superhero film directed by Tim "Burton and written by Sam Hamm and Warren Skaaren. Based on the DC Comics character, it is the first installment of Warner Bros.' initial Batman film series. The film stars Jack Nicholson, Michael Keaton, Kim Basinger, Robert Wuhl, Pat Hingle, Billy Dee Williams, Michael Gough, and Jack Palance. The film's score was composed by Danny Elfman, and songs were written by Prince. The film takes place early in the war on crime of the title character (Keaton) and depicts his conflict with his archenemy the Joker (Nicholson)." (Wiki)

This was one of the last movies I watched with my 1st BF before I joined the Navy. It engulfed my generation. At high school I saw so many Batman/Joker shirts that I was the odd man out.

37 years ago this movie changed the way comic book movies were done. More grim and violent but with a hint of humor. This made way for The Rocketeer, The Phantom, The Shadow, Dick Tracy

Not to mention The Flash tv series.

And the amount of comic book memorabilia that got restarted since Batman '66 and changed the way Comic Book movies were seen around the world.

I wouldn't be here if not for Batman '89. It kicked off my toy collecting in earnest, having stopped playing with toys just two years prior. I bought everything I could find with the yellow oval on black!

It was pretty much all I thought about once the trailer got shown on Entertainment Tonight the year before. And ended up seeing it 8 times at the theater that summer.
