On March 12, 1974, the television movie ‘Wonder Woman’ starring Cathy Lee Crosby aired on ABC.

Diana Prince is chosen to leave Paradise Island to become Wonder Woman and to show the sexist outside world the value of women. While working as an assistant to a (male) government agent, Diana hunts down the villain named Abner Smith. Smith has stolen a set of code books containing classified information about American field agents. Diana has to outwit Smith's assistants, the handsome rogue George Calvin and Ahnjayla, a rogue Amazon.

I must have seen this on a Saturday afternoon movie after 1974 but had this saved on VHS for years. The closet I have discovered is the pilot was based on the Mod-Era or I Chang era where WW wore Avengers Emma Peel outfits. It was a strange movie as a little kid watching WW not doing WW things. It wasn't until the 90's when I read that era of comic books that I get it but so glad they went and redid the series with more classics WW.

Oddly enough Anitra Ford who plays the rogue Amazon would have made a much more comic accurate Wonder Woman.

It's a miracle that the network execs wanted another shot at this, and gave us Lynda Carter. This is fun as a curiosity, but that's about it. The villains being so enamored with her that they bungle their plots seems a bit much to me.

If DC was SMART, they would have based this version as the "ABSOLUTE" version and it would have raised the IP and gotten in all the 70's freaks who grew up on this.

I think the Absolute line is doing just fine. It's selling really well. Limiting it to us aging nerds wouldn't have made much business sense.

Im sure that the Absolute line is doing fine, but all those characters pretty much look like the originals. I don't read DC at all except for JSA and considering how they have been treated over they years, I am expecting a new cancellation soon. The Cathy Lee Crosby version would have had the little kiddies scratching their heads.

That Dr. Strange film: In the Multiverse of Madness; where they had multiple versions of Strange; they should have seeked out: PETER HOOTEN the 1978 Dr. Strange and had him appear that would have been so insane! And the sad fact is Dr. Strange 1978 WAS ULTIMATE Marvel before the ULTIMATE Universe. Ultimate Dr. Strange
