    Netflix - WB

20251205_112734.jpg"It’s official: In a move that will dramatically reshape the entertainment business, Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery announced an agreement Friday under which Netflix will acquire Warner Bros., including its film and TV studios, HBO Max and HBO.
The deal has a total enterprise value (including debt) of approximately $82.7 billion, with an equity value of $72 billion, the companies said. The announcement of Netflix’s deal to buy the Warner Bros. streaming and studios business came after a weeks-long bidding war that pitted the streaming giant against David Ellison’s Paramount Skydance and Comcast. News broke Thursday evening that Netflix had entered into exclusive negotiations with WBD on a deal for Warner Bros. and HBO Max."

Aren't the Exorcist and Mad Max franchises WB too?
This just makes me want to be more proactive about finding a good little dvd tv combo for my studio so i can bring my dvd collection up from the basement. Streaming is fine but id like to curtail relying on it entirely.

I guess Paramount went "hold my beer" lol. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

82.7 Billion is a bit of a Swindle.

They have missed out on WEA/WMG (warner/Elektra/Atlantic and all their subsidiaries) (Warner Music Group)

The company owns and operates some of the largest and most successful labels in the world, including Elektra Records, Reprise Records, Warner Records, Parlophone Records (previously owned by EMI), and Atlantic Records. WMG also owns Warner Chappell Music, one of the world's largest music publishers. But, the music divison was sold in 2004!!

Below is a link to the artists on their various rosters.

the HOUSE that Mo (Ostin) and Ted (Templeman) built

Bee Gees, Black Sabbath, Cheap Trick, Chicago, Cher, Chic, Deep Purple, Dire Straits, Doobie Brothers, Duran Duran, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton (solo) , George Harrison, Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, the Sex Pistols are just a few on the roster and who have their catalogs distributed and their music publishing audited. Oh yeah they also had/have this band from Pasadena called: VAN HALEN!!

To me this deal is Blank as it does not include the Music division. Oh yeah sure, you have all that Real Estate at 4000 Warner Blvd, in Burbank, but really having that Pasadena band would have balanced the books in the buyers favor, What was that band called again????

        Oh yeah, VAN HALEN!

It's not like they are gonna dig up Bill Hanna, Joe Barbera or Robert Osbourne (TCM Legend) out of the ground and parade their carcasses to the masses

Are they? Would they do that to that Pasadena band., um...what is their name again...

        VAN HAGAR????

I still think of that scene from Blazing Saddles where all the extras and Harvey Korman are running out of the gates. Or the time when Richard Donner's young assistant Wrecked his SUV right at the entrance!

As Johnny Rotten as said in the past; "You ever get the feeling your being cheated?"

VAN HALEN! God that feels good when I say it.
