    Worst Batmobile Ever

I know every Batmobile has its fans and its haters. This thread is for the haters. The worst version of the Batmobile for me never appeared in live action or a cartoon or the comics. It is the 2003 Mattel version. They had just gotten the license for Batman and the last movie bombed six years before. I guess they didn’t want to release the same 89 Kenner version or the 97 Hasbro version. So… they went with the radical and extreme tuner look that was starting to finally die out in the real world. The overreaction fins, the rear ground effects, the Klingon batleth style tail cross bar which led to the recall. Just awful. It had the one fun point it had a motorcycle that could pop out vaguely similar to the Nolan Batmobile released shortly thereafter. And it was big. 20” long and you could sorta kinda squeeze Megos in especially if you had made a Titan sized Robin.

When they released the first ever American release of a Hot Wheels brand Batmobile, they used this as the basis for it. Elongated and stretched with bubble canopies and less of the weird paint job it was maybe a ten percent improvement. I had heard this version had a name but I always called it the Millennium Batmobile.

Yeah, it's an overwhrought stinker. There was actually a recall on it because the fins and other points were too sharp for kids. I sent in for the upgrade kit, but never changed it, so I have the original and the upgrade parts. Yay for me! I was such a sucker for anything Batman back then. The figure line by the Four Horsemen was pretty nice and eventually morphed into the wonderful DC Universe Classics, so there's that.
